I'm looking at them on line and wondering if anyone has useful feedback. I want to ditch my 9' octagonal umbrella, and mount an awning over the 8' wide, 10' long deck. In particular, mention if you have manual vs. motorized, brand names, any problems you've had, whether you mounted it yourself, whether you'd buy one again, etc.

Thanks!

I consider doing that. I just wasn't sure about the moving parts and constantly raising and lowering it. Eventually, we built a 12x40 deck with a covered metal roof.

The old umbrella is put away in the workshop. I'm not sure what we will use it for in the future.

Why does this site keep turning my pics?!
Yeah, they should be upside down.

That's a great shot! It can be tough to get good bird photos with a phone. Most birds won't let you get within a phone's camera range, although the phones do keep getting better.

For anyone really bored, here's my stuff. Most of this is from the southeastern US.

4,500 shots this will take a while. Awesome stuff!

Nah, most of it isn't very good. The site is sorted with the best stuff first. Incidentally, this site is an international library so there are some great NZ shots.

I have birding acquaintances who are much better photographers than I am, with tens and hundreds of thousands of photos. I'm more into the birds than the photography. It's common for me to go out for a couple of hours and not take any shots.
