He first bought the #3 Truck, next was the Olds I believe, both of them were re-pops, this third one is a genuine track car with a pedigree. I see a pattern myself.

On Thursday October 24th, 1985 we lost Richie Evans at Martinsville while practicing for the upcoming modified race. Friday will be the 40th anniversay of that sad day.

I knew Hamlin would get a bump out of my bold prediction for him to win the championship this year . But even I am surprised and humbled to see it propelling him to becoming one of Nascars five most popular drivers

Im not sure why anyone would try this. Indy car clearly wants to make no concessions to make it easier to happen.
History says the opposite. Nascar had made it impossible until a few years ago. Not that great now.
NASCAR needs this more than IMS and the I500 do.

If they both leaned into it would help both. The issue that it doesn't mean much to Indy is because none of their drivers will do the cross over. So that leaves a nascar guy to do Indy

Confusing. The race wasn't delayed, but yeah it looks like they had a go to delay the start. Even more confusing after that when Nascar said if you don't get a playoff waiver you will lose all of your season long playoff points.

He's a racer who (to my knowledge) wasn't even necessarily seeking to go to NASCAR until his family met Kevin Harvick.
I thought it was Justin Marks. Marks was racing in the GT class at the time. I don't think Harvick would be caught dead at a road racing track.

Harvick was talking to them coming up and more or less told them that this kid really has talent and you need to pursue a racing career. I don't think Harvick had anymore than advice invested in it though.
Marks put the pedal to the metal. Zillisch and SVG are going to terrorize the series next year.

It will be interesting to see how he does in a field full of allstars. I can see him giving SVG a run for his money at the right turns, but I think Trackhouse needs more work on ovals to get Connor in regular contention.
He's not one dimensional like SVG is.
They better not win to much, HMS will cut them off at the knees like another team did when the b- team started winning too much.

Yeah and Ross is a heck of a talent on ovals and he barely squeezed out 1 win this season. Trackhouse needs to step up the equipment on ovals.
He's not Ross. He beat the best in Xfinity by a mile ...in his rookie year.

Time will tell, he might set the world on fire. Just remember if he doesn't the best in Xfinity is still in Xfinity because they're not good enough for Cup. Not to mention JRM equipment was as good as you could get this season.
Lot of guys looked pretty good in JGR Xfinity cars through the years and flopped in cup.
Chase won the championship in his first season in Xfinity and the case could be made that currently hes the number 3 driver at HMS.
Chase is still a cup driver.
So is Chastain. Zilisch will be just fine.
And we've seen plenty of rookies fall on their faces with their first teams, only to be successful once they've moved on to the second one.
