....and just what model will this be? Because stock cars, right? I say if it doesn't have to emulate a consumer car, MY Toyota and Ford better get cracking on bespoke race cars. Chevy....Chevy-ing again.

Please there's nothing stock appearing about any of these cars. If you pulled the badges off them 98% of the public wouldn't have a clue as to the manufacturer

BS. Then we need to change the name of the series. The point here is that the ****** Chevy doesn't even have a badge to put on it. That's pathetic, but not a surprise. Hell, the last two versions of the Camry were designed to be race cars first, and customer cars second. I think that is pretty cool. Ole Chevy is just building themselves a race car. Hope they choke on it.

Besides a few lines in the nose there is nothing resembling a 4 door camry in the current nascar.

Dude, it's not like anyone is going to mistake Toyota's 'stock' race vehicles for a showroom Camry, Supra, or Tundra. All 3.5 manufacturers are already racing bespoke cars.

Dude, the point is that once you let that cat out of the bag, where does it stop? I have heard some whine about two door Camrys around here, but hey, if the Felon is good, NASCAR is good, right? Stock ****** cars. Let's get back to our roots, and all of that ****, right? Let's not forget about the whiners who bitched about the previous gen Camry racing before it hit the showrooms....I think this board needs some memory work.

Justified. If ChevroRick can't design a race car that can beat others trying to build a race car that looks like something, then....well, we will adjust the rules so he can. Nothing to worry about here. Race the Lemans piece of ****. Why not?

Sit down. The yotas are racing a car that don't exist in the Cup series.
 
It's like the man says. They had a shot at the apple. They took our car and made theirs better.
2 years running since yet another new front end, the yotas with Christopher Bell would be the champion using the old points system.

This 'cat' has been out of the bag for decades. Anyone who has watched NASCAR for more than a couple of months has figured out the 'models' of cars on the track have more in common with each other than with showroom cars of the same nameplate.

Besides, this 'cat' is barely more than a mewling kitten. Abandoning the pretense of model names will have no impact on the on-track product. The cars will still have to complete the same approval process. It's the 'number position' kerfuffle all over again.

I'm the biggest Hendrick/Chevrolet fan you'll ever meet, but Rev is right. It's lame that GM doesn't currently have a production Chevy coupe/sedan they can enter in NASCAR. Idk if it'll be a reworked Camaro body or what exactly, but their stupid choices in the consumer vehicle market shouldn't give them a pass in motorsports

Obviously folks aren’t driving NA V8’s with a cam in block and sequential gearbox to work everyday. Overall though they’ve done a good job resembling the street versions in my opinion
 
So let the manufactures all quit pretending. Have them develop a racing car for NASCAR that reflects their vision for this series. It would have to meet specific guidelines, but use each manufacturer’s engines, selected components, etc. Require the body to reflect best sports car they’ve got. If it’s Chevy…corvette. Toyota…Supra. Ford…Mustang. Whatever.
 
Looks like possible changes for short tracks. BTW I believe that is the fuel cell. Not much of a spoiler either. It's going to be tail happy.

They already did that, and it was cost prohibitive. What am I missing?
