THE CLASH

The empty colosseum was due to the wonky playoff format. The almost full season championship would have packed that thing. The rebellion is over.
The colusseum races were non-points exhibitions. How does the championship format affect attendance for something that doesn't count either way?

Interesting.

Tongue and cheek....just hoping that the format fixes literally everything.

50% chance of rain on Wednesday.
Honestly it’s getting comical at this point watching them try to pull this off, and I’m not sure if they are going to end up having time or not. I hope they do. If not I wonder what will happen. There is no precedent for this with an exhibition race. Other ones have been rescheduled to the end of the season etc in extreme case in the last, it those weee points races. It’s kind of entertaining watching.

That being said, regardless, I’m in a bit of a pretty bad emergency situation possibly and may not be getting to watch anything for a while unless I find a way to resolve it, which is looking increasingly more unlikely, more unlikely than them being able to pull off this race unfortunately. Perfect timing with Nascar coming back, which is basically the only thing I truly enjoy anymore other than my two dogs.

So if they do I really hope you guys can enjoy it as great little kickoff for the season.

It is flat and only a quarter mile, they should be able to easily vortex the place.

When it was at Daytona, it was easier to reschedule since everyone was already there and would be there until the 500. There was no rush to get back so you can prep for Daytona.

You thought they raced the same car for both races? I don't think so. The clash cars were throw away cars.

At this point why not just run it Friday night? Maybe I'm missing something from a media standpoint? Turning around and making it to Daytona for qualifying Wednesday really wouldn't be an issue. The only people it would be hard for is FOX

I'm pretty sure every extra minute all that gear is sitting around is costing the teams and NASCAR money, even if it's only the costs of security and facility rental.

Is anybody actually sitting around there? I know the haulers and cars are, but is anyone else? It's a little over an hour away from the shops and they called in early enough I don't think anyone left

As I said, if nothing else, someone is paying for security. Those haulers and other assets aren't sitting there unguarded. If there's still equipment at the fairgrounds, someone's paying rent to have it there.

As to waiting until Friday, it's possible something else is booked at the fairgrounds and needs to move into the spaces NASCAR would still be using. NBC assets might be scheduled for other coverage.
