Door bumper clear on Cletus OUCH

The most important line here in that video comes around 1:10: "Spend the money like we had to"

What ouch? Nascar and pro motor sports in general have always been open to anyone with money, I remember arguments against pro/am teams in imsa, nothing different here, it's what makes motor sports so awesome compared to other pro sports, when I was younger and if I had the money, I could do that.

Best part of it was Cleetus commented back saying he made a mistake and doesn't plan on going anywhere

Cleetus doesn’t just bring a bunch of eyeballs. His constant mistakes and talking about how hard it is makes the drivers look even better, because it shows that even a guy with a diverse driving background can’t just come in and run up front. He’s definitely a net positive, and he’s definitely not the least deserving driver on the track in ARCA or trucks.

That's what I was thinking. There's plenty of drivers that had no right being out there in those 2 series and this is the guy you want to single out?

I don't have any issues with him running trucks, but I sure would like to see a bigger body of work before he gets turned loose on Daytona. I think NASCR in general has been in too big of hurry to get "stars" approved for speedway races, but at least many of those drivers had high speed experience in other series. Cleetus's resume in anything comparable is pretty thin. And like Freddie pointed out, it isn't just starts, it SHOULD be how well you performed in those starts. Crashing out after five laps in an ARCA race should be a resume enhancement.
