Random NASCAR Stuff to talk about.....

My Googling skills suck when it comes to finding anything that needs more than two search terms, but I finally found a couple-three reddit and Facebook sites with more details.

According to those (and we know how reliable they are ;) ), Terrible writes the sponsorship checks, not Monster. It puts Monster on as part of a B2B deal, Terrible gets big discounts from Monster, and Monster gets preferential treatment in the stores. =IF= accurate, that explains why the money follows Riley - it's the family footing the bill, and Monster happens to be the long-term partner getting the free ride and bennies.

I also heard some rumors about they kicked in some money to help purchase the 3rd charter. If thats a credible rumor I can't say

Riley's dad has enough money to buy a sponsorship (net worth maybe $200 million) but not FU money

Monster is distributed by Coke ( and they own about 20% of Monster)so I seriously doubt Monster is tied to the hip with the 35 car and Terrible Herbst convenience stores

Herbst is off the hook, no longer a threat to get pushed to a win and you are in and we have the rolling nightmare of the media living the lie acting like he belongs in the playoffs. :idunno:

4 drivers tied for 8th place.

Speaking of controlling emotions they always say how Blaney is blowing up on the radio, but I can't remember has there ever been a time when he just lost his mind driving?

Drivers and crew chiefs are going to blow up during a race. It rarely means anything.

My National Guard unit allowed you one blow-up per two-week 'summer camp'. Don't waste it on the first day before we've even left the armory.

I agree, and I think a little more liberty is justified for the conversations between the drivers, crew chiefs, and spotters.

Fans have the right to listen, but they should do so while realizing they are listening to a real working conversation first, rather than something produced solely for entertainment purposes. If they hear some language and it bothers then, they should just let it go and find another team that is less offensive to follow.

I realize it is a double-edged sword, and anything can be taken to extremes. I wouldn't condone any of them threatening each other or even insulting another team member.

But everybody is trying to make their cars better and that will usually involve constant feedback including constructive criticism. If they cant get the car up to speed they better be talking about it in real time and everybody's feelings will not be the first priority.
