Bristol grandstands OUUUUUCH!!!!!!

ya know if worse came to worse and some of the larger tracks had to shut down, there are plenty of smaller tracks that wish Nascar would throw them a bone. Rockingham is one that comes to mind. Plenty more, so it isn't or never is going to be a big deal in my world, I wish there were more ARCA races televised, every race I got to see last year was a good one. Some of us can't get enough when it comes to racing.:)

i can explain. here http://www.nascar.com/en_us/sprint-cup-series/schedule.html for example I see WATKINS GLEN. But if do not use google it is impossible to understand where this place is!

may be some one has something like INFOGRAPHICS?

And why tracks so far from international airport....

Welcome to the forum Fatlate , what a great question. I remember (many years ago) when I was trying to find out where the tracks actually are , I took out an atlas and spent a lot of time searching . The first thing I learned is that in many cases , the track came first , it was built on cheap farmland out in the country and a town grew up around it .Tracks were also built in little racing towns like Darlington , not necessarily near big cities . Internet searches and google earth make it pretty easy today to find them ,but I understand your question .What part of Russia are you from and why is you english so good?

There wasn't a lot of international interest when most of these tracks were built. They were constructed for a regional audience, so most fans just drive to the racetrack.

nice job! pretty interesting, they tried to get a track in the Portland, Seattle areas and they were blocked. New York city same thing.
 
This is the second attempt to put a track up there:

In March 2007, Washington state representative Larry Seaquist caused a minor controversy when he was quoted as saying, "These people are not the kind of people you would want living next door to you. They'd be the ones with the junky cars in the front yard and would try to slip around the law."[23] The quote was assumed to be an attack on NASCAR fans but Seaquist later claimed that it was directed at ISC
 
I think the only We is Andy mentioning that. As per that article, Nascar tried to put another short track package together located in New York city, Staten Island and they ran them out on a rail. But they layed down for a formula one track in New Jersey. Glad the moved the awards to Las Vegas.

What I find ironic is that Kansas got a second race due in large part to the casino that was built close to the track, yet Las Vegas can't get a second race. There certainly aren't any casinos there.

I know a lot of racers and $$$ is not the reason they show up at a track every week. If money was the only reason cup drivers race, why would they spend so much money to seek out other venues close to cup races?

Nothing wrong with the race , but it doesn't need to take up a whole weekend .It could be run on a Tuesday or a Thursday night near the Charlotte date. There are only so many weekends available for points races.

I know a lot of racers too, what's your point? My comment was that the Cup drivers just don't care about winning exhibition races. The All Star Race counts for nothing so they don't really care. Too many of them are content with points racing. I wish we had more drivers like Brad Keselowski who want to win races and don't give a **** who they piss off.

Pretty simple, Smoke's comment, they drag a sprint or a late model around the U.S. to race at small dirt tracks if they get a chance, quite a few own dirt tracks of their own,teams of their own. Have you thought that maybe just maybe they are top race car drivers because they like to race and they are really good at it? BTW a million to win is big money in anybodies world.

You need help dude. You can't tell the difference between a Saturday night dirt tracker running for 500 bucks and a sprint cup driver...33rd place is paying almost 600 thou for four starts. Back to the topic that you keep dancing around, if a million bucks to win doesn't mean anything like you say, and they are only racing for the points..like you said. Why do some of the top drivers drag a sprint or a late model around to race for five hundred bucks in their spare time?

I honestly think that they are elite racecar drivers . Being the worst of the top 43 ,just ain't that bad . Check out a loser like Kenny Wallace sometime and see how he does when he races against your local short track heros. All of these racers can beat the pants of the regional racers any day of the week.
