Brad SHOULD HAVE been penalized for what he said. Denny Hamlin should demand a refund.
Basically, the rear-end housings on both cars were doctored in a fashion that they might shift the rear-ends of the cars into yaw during competition, thereby creating better side force aerodynamics.
Just more of a challenge. I think it'll make him better if he can move forward and still compete the way he has been.Sucks for Logano, this drops him from 9th to 14th in points. Brad can better take the hit because he's higher up in points, but this puts a hurtin' on Joey's Chase aspirations.
If I took a big bite out of somebodys butt last year I believe I would be smart enough not to expose my own butt for them to take a bigger bite out of this year, somebody, to put it mildly, screwed the pooch. This is a quote from a Marty Smith tweet.

And it sounds like the pooch didn't like it.If I took a big bite out of somebodys butt last year I believe I would be smart enough not to expose my own butt for them to take a bigger bite out of this year, somebody, to put it mildly, screwed the pooch.

Wasn't kyle already on Nascar 'probation' at the time?Hornaday penalty was a good call. Inconsistent with what they did to Kyle after Darlington 2011 (when Kyle wrecked Harvick under caution) but looks like they weighed it on it's own merit.
We may have to keep an eye on FB for the next few days just to make sure he doesn't do anything detrimental to himself or others.

I'm pretty sure he was on probation for that deal with Harvick at Darlington. When he was suspended for wrecking Hornaday, he was on probation I think. Kyle was a loose cannon that year - a danger to himself and to others. NASCAR had to reign him in. He was downright reckless on the track that year and he thought he was above the rules.

They were going a whole lot faster and it was at Texas I believe.

I'm not defending what Hornaday did, I see it as the same thing Kyle did.. only Kyle was already on probation and that's why he got suspended and Hornaday didn't.Both drivers were put on probation after Darlington because of the pit road stuff. What Kyle did that caused all that to go down was a malignant foul and NASCAR gave him a pass under "Have at it". The penalty against Hornaday this time was a good call. He didn't just run in to Wallace to express frustration, he put him head on in to the wall under caution.
I think that the suspensions may be lifted for the team manager and the car chiefs and engineers.. you never know but I do think they went a little overboard. They may just be putting their foot down on innovation.Very heavy handed penalties for sure. With a little luck the appeal would halve them.

Nope, besides there is a possible 48 points under the new system, not 43.My trolling aside, this may be one of the biggest penalties in NASCAR history.
Michael Waltrip was fined 100 points in 2007 on the old points system in the first year of Toyota when they couldn't qualify and he put that rocket fuel in the engine.
100 points out of 185 possible (for winner) = 54% of points possible
25 points out of 43 possible (for winner) = 58% of points possible
I think that makes this the biggest points penalty in the history Cup.
