I rarely watch movies in theaters because, to be honest, most movies nowadays genuinely suck.

What have you watched lately and what did you think?

I enjoyed "Man Of Steel". "World War Z" was very good. I am also a fan of the "Fast & Furious" franchise, so I of course liked number 6. Number 7 could be good with Jason Statham playing the villain role. "Mama" was terrible. If you haven't heard of "Baytown Outlaws", I highly recommend it. That was a good flick too.

I was just sitting here thinking about going to the movies. There's nothing out there worth $5, let alone $13.
I did see Lone Ranger when it debuted; it was ok. Depp was good but the Lone Ranger character was a bit on the wimpy side. Clayton Moore prolly stirred a little.

Last movie I went to see was Man of Steel and I did not like it.

Terribly miscasted film. Plot was of the lame variaty also.

These days I just watch what Netflix has up which is pretty solid.

Man of Steel managed to be rushed while dragging on at the same time. Everything about it was rushed except for the fight scenes which seemed to drag on for ages.

It's Red Box for me can't beat $1.20 rentals even if they are out a little later than Netflix and the cable companies. Just can't see going to the theater and dropping $40 bucks for 2 tickets and snacks, then watching a sucky movie! Best movei I have seen lately would have to be Django Unchained, great cast, and good story line.

Watched Cloud Atlas last week. Three hours of weirdness. Then I watched, just a couple days ago, the new Evil Dead. Great, great horror movie to begin with, and the remake was just plain awesome.

RIPD looks pretty entertaining(for what it is) but not many people saw it this weekend. I'll probably watch it at some point.

Even the trailers look bad for that movie. It will probably flop.

That movie made absolutely no sense, the ending really baffles me, too bad because it has some good actors in it.

I pretty much never go to the movies. I love watching them at my convenience from the DVR. I had a three month free trial of all the movie channels Direct Tv offers when we moved. I also had a new whole house DVR that has an incredible amount of space to save recordings. I recorded all kinds of movies during that time and I still have a bunch that I haven't watched yet. The last one that I watched and really liked was Texas Killing Fields. I hadn't remember hearing anything about the movie but I liked a couple of people who were in it so I recorded it. It was pretty dark, but intense and it had just enough light to make it a really good watch. I also just rewatched Rain Man with my son. He hadn't seen it before, but he liked it.

Saw
Took the 7 year old nephew to see Turbo last week. It was fun. Now to see Planes.

Saw Turbo, too, on Fri night at our local drive-in.

Pretty good movie. But, as a race fan, you can't take the ending of this movie too seriously.
Just enjoy it for what it is.
The racing scenes are cool.
Man, we've come a long way from Speedracer.

The Factory on Netflix is not to bad

Burt Wonderstone not worth the dollar on redbox

I saw Warm Bodies the other night. While some may be grossed out by the whole zombie thing, it was an excellent watch. Teresa Palmer is incredible. She is like a much better looking Kristen Stewart with actual acting ability.

Evil Dead the remake.

Too predictable. Took the enjoyment right out of the movie.

Wow, are you sure that isn't Kristen Stewart? LOL

They could pass for twins.

I disagre here. I loved Evil Dead (both 1 and 2, as well as AoD) and absolutely loved this remake. One of the best remakes, IMO.

I haven't seen many movies since the video stores went away. I enjoyed browsing and usually ended up renting a couple B movies. You just can't browse on the internet or OnDemand.

This weekend I watched two movies, Ted and Jack Reacher. First Ted was crazy and very adult. I learned of this movie in January as I was flying out to Oregon. A young lady sitting next to me was watching this movie on her iPad. She was laughing continuously so I thought I'd better see what she was laughing at. Keep the kids away from this movie. Very "R" rated. As for Jack Reacher, since I have read almost all of Lee Child's series on Jack Reacher, I was, as well as many other Reacher fans, disappointed when they cast Tom Cruise as Reacher. Child's Reacher is 6'4" weighing in at 240 to 250 pounds. Little Tom is 5'7" at a soaking wet 150 pounds. However, I imagine that the biggest majority of people who see this movie have never read a Jack Reacher novel so keeping that in mind, the movie does show Reacher as how Child writes about him. Mean, nasty and doesn't own a thing. Tough as nails and will fight and beat anyone. I enjoyed this one as well.

Our last Blockbuster closed it's doors a couple weeks ago. It's sad because I used to do the same thing you said. Once online movie rentals(and other not so legal) sites began it was a death sentence for video stores.

Movie rental stores began their downfall when DVD's became prevalent. Online rentals will one day be passe as well. Streaming movies are the wave of the future and someone will find a new way to view movies.

I tried, tried, to watch "The Watch" the other night. Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill. Hoh-Lee-Sh1t, it was horrible. Bad, terrible, rotten. 20 minutes in I put it back in the envelope to send it back. Avoid at all costs.

The Conjuring.

Based on a real story? lol

A lot of those movies say that.

I'm just curious to know to what extent that is true.

They showed pictures of the actual people involved in the "cleansing" of the haunted house or what have you.

I don't think it is in theaters any more, but if you happen to catch This is the End I highly recommend it. I haven't laughed that hard in my life.
