RCR crew member who threw sledgehammer at Kevin Harvick’s truck suspended indefinitely

NASCAR announced Thursday that Adam Brown, a Richard Childress Racing crew member for Ty Dillon's team who threw a sledgehammer at Kevin Harvick's truck in Saturday's Camping World Truck Series race at Martinsville,had been suspended indefinitely.
Crew chief Paul Richmond was also fined $10,000.
"The team has been penalized for violating Sections 12-1 (Actions detrimental to stock car racing; throwing an object at a competitor’s race truck) and 9-4A: (The Crew Chief assumes responsibility for the actions of his/her Driver, Truck Owner and team members). The infractions occurred during the race on Saturday, October 26," The NASCAR release said.
"As a result of these violations, crew chief Paul (Marcus) Richmond has been fined $10,000 and crew member Adam Brown has been indefinitely suspended from NASCAR."
After Harvick and Dillon crashed late in the race, Harvick -- who currently drives for RCR in the Sprint Cup Series -- stopped in Dillon's pit box out of frustration. Dillon's crew angrily confronted Harvick to get him out of the way and a sledgehammer came out of nowhere from the direction of the pit box.
When he got out of his truck in the garage, Harvick had some harsh words for the Dillons, saying that they were the reason he was leaving RCR. He later apologized for those remarks Sunday morning before the Sprint Cup Series race.

I agree that he needs some discipline for throwing the hammer.

I am a Harvick fan but he needs to be warned about stopping in another pit stall, after tangling with another driver.
That is like going to someone elses hauler looking for a fight. Nascar needs to tell Harvick the next time it is going to result in some form of a penalty.
 
Hey, Happy stopped to tell dillions cc to have him come over for a beer later so they could talk. And look at what those thugs did,,throwing a dead blow hammer at him. Tsk, tsk. See what happens when you try to be a nice guy?:rolleyes:

Yeah, good point.

Maybe Adam Brown is America's hope for a gold medal in the hammer throw at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.
 
His mistake was throwing a rubber sheet metal hammer, shoulda thrown a damn sledge hammer and he woulda been OK.

Yah I know he wrecked Hornaday under caution, good for him he cost Harvick a championship for his truck team after a season of being picked on by Harvick and his drivers

Kinda seems like Martin is just making laps, I doubt anybody is putting a lot of effort into the 14 right now. They better be getting ready for 2014 IMO

Tony Stewart, Danica Patrick, Kurt Bush and Kevin Harvick all on the same team next year. Man, it doesn't get any better than that. I already can't wait for Daytona!
 
I assumed there would be some sort of fallout for the hammer throw.. What if he took out someone's knee? Ouch!

That's really something to write off Mark Martin as 'just making laps" . He has never in his life been anything but a hard charger . Michael Waltrip picked him for that reason and he had some great runs for that team. Tony picked him for the same reason .He's going to give you 100% or walk away . I think that he is getting the most out of the equipment that he can . I think Tony and Kurt can get a little more , but that equipment is not where it should be .

Nothing against Martin at all and I agree the equipment probably isnt the best. Maybe Mark was told to back it down and save the cars
