Phoenix RACE thread

Newman drove in too deep and slid him and larson up the hill.

I just saw the replay...Newman did not hit Larson and Larson wasn't loose (until he "made himself loose")....this is total b_llsh!t

I didn't say he hit him. Larson got in the marbles and slid up the hill.

Harvick has the highest average finish at Homestead among the 4, and that number's based off of his RCR performance. JoLo has the lowest average finish and only one top 10.

I'll repeat myself.

It is pathetic that this is what is necessary to move on.

I will say Blaze88's argument is ridiculous, but I wouldn't say Newman intended to wreck Larson. I just think he intended to bump Larson, much like they do at short tracks. And it just happened to cut his tire.

Dont worry about those stats... those are from a different Joey :D

I seriously think Joey's got this.

The past is filled with drivers doing whatever was necessary to win. This is nothing new.

I'm all good with on track performance. I'm pissed with the unneccesary desperation that is now required by NASCAR to win a championship. This should be a 2 or 3 horse race at this point. Not 8.

Great race. I was rooting for Gordon, but that race was awesome to watch.
I got so into the race, I forgot to check the football games like I normally do.

This Chase format kicks ass. Harvick and Kez both pulling off must wins.

Only downside is ending in Homestead. End in Vegas, baby!

Newman did nothing wrong. I'd fire my driver if didn't take that opportunity. The only reason Newman caught Larson is because Larson and Ambrose were battling so hard. Larson wore out his stuff.

Newman putting Larson into the wall to advance was what the Chase was designed for. Newman's about my 20th favorite driver, but he did what he had to do.

4 wins, 13 top-5s, 21 top 10s, has scored the most points of all drivers this year (I believe), but isn't eligible to win the championship. How again is this a legitimate points system? And please don't try and make the stick-n-ball comparison, because it ain't.

It may be new to you, but any driver from any era would do what Newman did to have a chance to win the championship.

Like some here have said, this is nothing new, and should be expected for what is at stake.

You are missing my point. Newman shouldn't even have a chance to win this championship,

same way that wild cards win in stick and ball sports. all teams play by the same rules.

Yeah, every single driver should do what Newman did. You have to do it. Any driver who wouldn't should be fired.

That was one of the most exciting races I've seen in years. I wish every nascar race was that exciting.

well then it isn't in your world. I guess you can quit watching and find the complaint department somewhere. heck if I know.

It isn't a legit point system. Repeatedly resetting the points for dramatic effect is ridiculous.

yep, you play by the rules set down, People don't like it, there is the door. Jeffy could go ahead and retire if he doesn't like it, and take all his fans with him.

Gordon lost..that is how the racing worked. He and three others were eliminated..in the Eliminator round..does that ring a bell?

please enlighten me all knowing DUN24. But I do know jeffy not going to win #5 this year.

Lol.

In a legitimate championship scenario. The points aren't reset when NASCAR feels like it.
