I would be all in favor of going back to production based engine designs, BUT, because of the widely different engine architectures, you would quickly find yourself in a BoP situation like sports car racing, which drives me nuts.

    Presumably Dodge doesn't care.

The measure of success was to qualify at a GT class speed ( they did) finish all 24 hours (they did) to run lap times that were competitive with the GT class cars in the race (they did), and to grab tons of positive attention for NASCAR (they did).

How do you collaborate? Put a Chevy engine in a Camry? Build a generic car that isn't anything? Could it be that the goal was to align with one team that could basically do the job 100% in house under one roof? Why not just acknowledge that the Chevy-HMS team knocked it out of the park and move...

I'm sure you'll disagree, but I don't think this car would have generated even half as much of the interest it has if it was a Toyota. It simply HAD to be a Camaro or Mustang. Obnoxious rip snorting American muscle car with a big American style V8. Having a fake four door grocery getter with a...

And how is that different than it has EVER been? Surely you don't actually believe Chase's dad was the MPD all those years do you?

    Cup RACE thread --- Phoenix

They DID, BUT, under a reasonable point system, neither the 11 or the 19 are probably in position to win anyway, so there is that. I think what happened yesterday just highlights the absurdity of the playoff format. As you all know, I am not a fan of Denny the driver, but I think only a soulless...

A thought just occurred to me. Has anyone done a wellness check on Revman? The end of that race must have damn near killed him.

23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

I agree 100%, but benevolent dictatorships only work if the dictator is truly benevolent and not a complete idiot. Jim France has been a HUGE disappointment to me, and most of the rest ARE idiots.

Bonehead of the Week: Talladega II

2025 will be remembered by Hendrick Motorsports as the "Year of the Unforced Error". Who needs competition when you keep inventing new ways to beat yourself?

    2026 Silly Season

According to Tommy Baldwin, all of the Kaulig truck seats are filled, although he refused to say who the other three drivers are.

Bonehead of the Week: Las Vegas II

Maybe it's time to structure pit road entry more like pit road exit, where you would have to go down to and stay in a deceleration lane before entering pit road. It would also offer an opportunity to close up the pit in end of the track. I have long been concerned about cars spinning onto pit...

Bonehead of the Week: Las Vegas II

I don't disagree with your take there, but I guess what I would have to ask is without the points reset, does the current playoff format make sense on ANY level?

Bonehead of the Week: Las Vegas II

I'm not disputing that the uncontrolled tire was a team issue and shouldn't impact the 9 car, but should it erase a 32 week body of work? Me thinks not.

Possible, but also possible that he just saw a whole season go down the drain in a heartbeat. Look at how dazed Ross seemed to be last week.
