Legacy to Toyota

A darn shame he aligned himself with a Yoter team, but welcome aboard Darius! One of
Only a handful of artists I've seen in concert more than once.

In my opinion, if Legacy wants to take the next step forward, they need a hell of a lot more than Riley Herbst. That hire wouldn't move the needle for me even a tiny bit.
Standings wise Herbst (28th) slots in between Jones (24th) and Nemecheck (29th), so to your point not much to move the competition needle. However that Monster money spins the needle out in the finance department.

But I thought the whole point of the lawsuit was teams have enough money now so they don't have to hire a driver based on the money they bring????

I've never gotten the impression that funding is what is holding Legacy back. If you are a tier one team, you can likely take on a lesser driver just for the funding, but a tier three team risks being stuck in perpetual mediocrity.

I don't think it is. Tier 1 go alone status isn't an easy thing. Who has pulled it off in the Next Gen era? It will be interesting moving forward. How long is Jimmie willing o wait to produce results?
