I forgot one very important thing which is the thing I hate the most about modern NASCAR; Stages
I hate stages and for good reason. The most interesting thing about a NASCAR race compared to any other form of stock car racing I watch is the fact that it was an endurance race. Look at the...
Apologies for the "bitch about NASCAR" novel I'm about the write but I've held off on it for decades now and wanted to get all this down somewhere and maybe some input to see if I'm way off base. For what it's worth I was born in 1986 and was a diehard fan of NASCAR from before I could walk...
Costs and time were the main reason we didn't run karts for very long. We always wanted to field something competitive but he worked out of town far too often to maintain it. Dad and I do many things together but now that he's retiring I'm hoping we can commit to our shared dream of racing. If...
@gone Thank you for a very detailed post this is exactly what I was hoping for when I posted this. 311 speedway would be my home track/track I would attend most often if and when we start running. I've looked over the rules and you're right on the money when you say it's a crap shoot if you want...
If NASCAR mandated spec car based on the early-mid 90s cars (Gen 4 as they call it now) with better driver safety and only a nose to differentiate the various makes how would you guys feel about it? It would come along with several rule changes to put adjustments back into each teams hands to...
Yea, it's a hard call to make for sure. When the jet dryer got taken out they spent hours attempting to get the finish in and the fans that attended were pretty burnt out by the time they did. I can't remember how late it was but IIRC it was 1 or 2am before most of them went home.
It's still raining all around Daytona. I got the impression they didn't want to risk drying it again only to lose the track as soon as they got it ready. Most of the field was out of the race and the fans had already been there a day longer than they expected. I would have loved to see it finish...
I for one am happy they don't start the races at 11am anymore and so is everyone else that attends Sunday service. Someone is going to complain no matter what they do.
I've seen a lot of "fans" of various things get outraged on twitter over the years. I tend not to pay much attention to them anymore because they are almost always a vocal minority with an agenda. Not saying that's true for everything but the folks on twitter are certainly not worth listening to...
Where do you prefer to sit? Do you get a hotel for the weekend or do you camp? I've never stayed in the infield before but I think I might change things up for this race.
Have you guys been to this track before? I'm thinking about going next year because it's close-ish to where I live and I've never visited the state. How's the track in person?
Same but I think he'll get a shot with a bigger team in the future. He's an K&N series champ, has done decent in the truck series (30+ top tens, 3 wins, and a pole) and he's still young. He's put in the butt time and I'm happy to see a kid like that get a cup win.
