If it is anything like the improvement they made to COTA, I think I will be fine with what is advertised. They aren't running oversized go karts, but full grown taxi cabs.

And I thought the logistical nightmare with this race would be with the haulers and them being protected, not the drivers and other team members not being able to get out of Charlotte.

Biff and Cleetus are making shuttle runs.

Seriously, I can't count the number of dumb movies that show people somehow getting sucked into jet engines and the powerplant belching and carrying on. 'Die Hard 2' leaps to mind. A three-pound bird in the wrong place can take an engine out, much less someone the size of John Amos. That's why airports spend a lot of money deterring those bird species attracted to large open areas. Fortunately, multi-engine aircraft are designed to be able to land safely should there be a problem with one engine. However, losing one during take off or landing is a more threatening situation. Good on those pilots for handling it without harm to those on board.

Gilliland leads P2. Most those who were top 10 in P1 are also there in P2. Penske and Trackhouse each have all three cars in P2 top 10. Gibbs most consistent, 3rd in each session.

Old school stuff like this will enhance his image with the fans.
Also builds good will with the rest of the team. Even if he's only turning some screws or handing guys the tools they ask for, he's there with the people fixing his mistake. A really smart driver would leverage these opportunities at every chance, buying tamales and cervezas until the work is done.
