Ok, glad we got that straightened out. :) There are no specific rules about hitting the Stanchion. It is just that the WNBA Refs consider it disrespectful to the game. Lets move on to some other more interesting topic like Wilson having a year that probably has never been seen before. :)

Granted, I am not a rules specialist, but I am not aware of any specific rule that states a player shall not hit the "Stanchion". There are rules though for hanging on the rim, etc.

Technicals are reset for the playoffs so there is no worry on that issue. The stanchion rule is still a dumb rule.
