    Rate the Wreck (Daytona)

    7. It was interesting seeing them, when they could, race on a hot Daytona track in the summer. Even TNT pointed out, since it was expected to be a night race, it threw off a lot of cars. Anyway, the parts I saw were at least interesting and I didn't fall asleep. Cool to see Almirola and the 43...

    Adam Alexander

Adam Alexander is ok, I can take him or leave him, but it seems to me that he absolutely hates Kyle Petty and Wally. Really, Wally is my favorite "analyst" of all the current crop on the 3 networks (at Cup level). He doesn't try to make you think he's the best driver that ever lived. He sounds...

    RATE THE RACE: Boring Kentucky

    3. Other than the restarts, just not good racing (at least what I saw). But I didn't expect much coming in to it. Its Kentucky.

    NASCAR and the younger crowd

Somebody earlier mentioned needing wifi in the stands because kids these days have to have that stuff with them all the time. I don't know why Nascar doesn't push that actually. After just the one tweet from Keselowski blew up so big at Daytona, you'd think they would want kids in the stands to...

    NASCAR and the younger crowd

Kids don't care about cars, or much of anything else these days. My stepkids don't have any "toys" like I did at their age. They have iPods and Internet, and they watch TV. Then they get bored because they don't have any hobbies or other interests. As kids we spent our time in the woods, in the...

    NASCAR and the younger crowd

I think around here its partially that Nascar, at a top level, isn't really accessible to most people. Most of the people around where I live don't have the means to go to a Cup race, so they miss out on the up close action. They don't get the joy of getting Richard Petty's autograph or bringing...

Uh oh! Something must be wrong if I managed to get a win! (I know, kinda lame that it was only 310 pts). I had Allmendinger at first but for some reason switched him with Edwards. Then during the race, they kept talking about how it was Edwards' worst track. But its ok, because I couldn't even...

    Texas World Speedway Closing

No, I've never been there. Just heard it mentioned on and off over the years. I was surprised to see a fairly active schedule and a road course, though. I didn't realize they don't race it as an oval anymore because its falling apart? Wow. That says a lot.

    Texas World Speedway Closing

Forgive me if this has been brought up before; I searched but didn't see anything. The story is a little bit old now, but apparently Texas World Speedway will be torn down to make way for a housing development. http://www.theeagle.com/news/local/article_f3d71416-b637-11e3-96a7-001a4bcf887a.html...

I had Keselowski who got punted by Danica (or, it was all his fault according to Waltrip), Logano who got wrecked, and Earnhardt who decided to sit this one out at the end. Only Larson did ok. I still only dropped 1 spot, after jumping 9 last week. This is not easy.

Carl Edwards - NASCAR's popularity savior?

I would call BS on the chart too, but it does show Jimmie Johnson having a negative impact on ratings when he does well, and that I can believe. So if that means the rest of the chart is more credible, I guess NASCAR should keep some debris cautions and random penalties set aside for use against...

    Who finishes better? Busch/Indy 500 or Montoya/Brickyard 400

I'd like to see Kurt do well, but I think he's a bit further outside his comfort zone than JPM will be. So I say Montoya will finish better. Neither will be in the top 5 in either race.

    Most over rated?

I decided a few years back when the talk was all about Elliott Sadler and how he was going to win all those Nationwide championships, then come back to Cup, that he was the most overrated driver I could think of. Still do.

I decided this would be a great week to start Jr! I did have Larson and Lagano, but yet again, I dropped a few more positions. Oh well. I'll think my sponsors and we'll go on to next week...

Duck Commander 500: Rate the race..

7, because for Texas it wasn't as bad as it could be. Started out pretty interesting, and a decent finish. Just spread out so much in the middle.

    Kasey Kahne

Kahne and Biffle really are similar in how they are not mentioned much, and are good for a few wins. The difference I see, is that I've never seen Biffle as a cardboard standup in any convenience store, but I used to see Kahne's face everywhere back in the day. Nobody ever says, Biffle is going...

    Congrats Kurt Busch

I was so glad to see Kurt win this one. He's one of those drivers I used to not be able to stand, but he's one of my favorite's now. There's not that many out there that still tell it like it is, and he does, and backs it up on the track.

    As posted on Jayski

I read an article the other day about how pro bowling was one of the top sports back in the 70s. The bowlers made more than NFL players, and it was on tv all the time drawing huge numbers. It was the NASCAR of its day, and then tapered off for various reasons. It's still popular, just not at the...

    Rate the race: Martinsville 1

    9. Great racing, this is how it is supposed to be. Didn't look like many in the stands, though.

    Old Classic NASCAR Broadcasts

If you can find the Talledega Die Hard 500, race in July 1993, it was the first race after Davie Allison got killed, with the 28 back on the track (with Robbie Gordon driving and finishing last). Its a good old race to watch. They knew how to cover a race back then. I have it on VHS, but I need...
