    Chev SS discontinued?

GM's goal is marketing a brand, not sports car sales NASCAR isn't about selling cars for the manufacturers, it's about selling pickup trucks with their large production runs and high profit margins. NASCAR fans buy lots a pickups.

Hamlin tweets on how to fix the cars/attendance

All three ideas are badly needed by NASCAR to adapt to the 21st century. All three ideas will also never happen.

2017 NASCAR Season - Television Ratings Thread

Yes they did. However, all the money is gone when Dad's no longer the CEO. I like Spencer a lot, but the whole operation depends on his Dad supplying the money.

Gallagher racing is a pet project of the Allegiant Air CEO because his son wants to be a race car driver. Spencer has some talent, but that team will fold when the CEO gets fired or Spencer stops racing.

Roger Penske: The next major step is cost reduction in NASCAR

Weaker and Stronger is not a factor of how many cars the team fields. It's a factor of how rich the owners are.

Roger Penske: The next major step is cost reduction in NASCAR

Reducing costs is pretty straightforward. The weaker teams go bankrupt, the sanctioning body collapses, and the remaining strong teams take over the sport. Then they redo the system and it starts all over again. Indy racing has been perfecting this process for decades.

Roger Penske: The next major step is cost reduction in NASCAR

Those people are 100% correct. Once racing is in your blood, you spend more than you should on it. These guys will spend everything they can. There is a racing cliche that goes something like "the best way to make a small fortune in racing is to start with a large fortune."

    Is NASCAR dying?

The last race got rated over a 9. I don't think it's just a few people who think everything is good as is. Concerts, Wifi, strippers, and Obama might get them to the track one time. They won't come back if they are bored. I think they should start over and create a new series. Let Cup...

    Is NASCAR dying?

if you take a step back and think about it, this is a great post. It really illustrates the problem that NASCAR can't solve. One one side, we have LewTheShoe and many other longtime NASCAR fans who love what they see and think everything is awesome. It makes zero sense to change anything from...

CEO says NASCAR 'not isolated' in fighting to attract fans

In NASCAR the aero makes it hard to pass. In Moto GP, the aero makes it allows the second place bike to slingshot past the first place bike. It makes for some amazing last laps as they battle back and forth to the finish Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

CEO says NASCAR 'not isolated' in fighting to attract fans

There wasn't much else to do back then. There are so many more options today then there was in 1986. I'd argue that the fake cautions and manipulated races were the reaction to this increased competition. At that point the CEO should have been fired. Instead, the sport flails about as...

CEO says NASCAR 'not isolated' in fighting to attract fans

I don't think attention spans have gotten shorter. I think its the tolerance to sit through three hours of mind numbing boredom in anticipation of 3 minutes of action that has changed. Also, lol at Brian France assembling a conference of baby boomers to figure out millennials. Sent from my...

CEO says NASCAR 'not isolated' in fighting to attract fans

Stick 20 millennials in a room and force them to watch yesterday's race. The same race that all most of us rated a 9. I guarantee they will be bored out of their minds. There is no dancing around this. NASCAR's main product is sleep deprivation relief. The product is dull, the drivers are...
