I'd agree with that. I have a bunch of friends that are "sort of" NASCAR fans and they'll get excited for Daytona and Bristol. Indy not so much, but as its been stated, the drivers probably have Indy #2.

It seems some people are mad that Newman makes it difficult for other drivers to pass him....uhhh isn't that the point of racing? I hope this random fued continues though, racing is more fun to watch when the drivers dont like each other

Think I read somewhere that Hornish would get the nod over Newman if Penske went to three teams.

Good points. Just throwing it out there, if NASCAR pulls in a 3.5 rating and sports center a 1.5 anyone have any idea if that extra 2.0 rating can pull in enough money wise to justify the cost of broadcasting NASCAR?

I just dont understand why ESPN would choose to get rid of the NASCAR schedule that they have. Currently a big chunk of it runs against the NFL Sunday broadcast, something that ESPN does not have. What else would ESPN like to have on their channel on Sunday afternoon which could outdraw NASCAR...

Went to Daytona last year for the first time, but had to attend the summer race because work gets in the way of the 500. I would agree the heat is unbearable, but that is why they invented water, beer and friends. Got all three of those and you'll have a good time!

FOX has NFL and MLB contracts so you know they're gonna make shows for both of those sports. As long as I can still see the truck races, practice, qualifying, race hub and pre-race show I think I'll be ok. As its already been mentioned but I think NBC sports will pick up anything racing related...

Congrats Truex! How many people here were waiting for a late caution to come out and cost Truex the win like usual? I was nervous for him those lap couple laps.
