2017 NASCAR Season - Television Ratings Thread

Yep, like they’re trying to film a car chase in an action movie. Which not surprising is a genre that has been taking a beating at the box office thanks to the shaking camera technique. Wide out shots, and some Ritalin for the windbags would have prevented the hemorrhaging of tv viewers. And...

    Rate The Race: Kansas II

Outside of the big ones this track keeps producing, worst track outside of Joliet to attend. 2

2017 Kansas - Hollywood Casino 400 - Pre Race Thread

double header likely on Sunday. Hopefully they run x before the cup race, because there is no way I’m sticking around after what is already a late starting cup race.

Bobby Dale Earnhardt to the #40

It appears he has been scratched for the ARCA race. Anyone know the reason why?

2017 NASCAR Season - Television Ratings Thread

There you go, us junior first fans figured he had a significant chance of winning, and we tuned in. Next weekend however, probably not happening. If martinsville or Phoenix was this weekend, NASCAR might have been able to ride a wave.

    The Announcers Thread

I did the tv on mute, mrn on the surround sound, and NASCAR’s app. It worked fine until 4:30 when the radio station cut the feed. Otherwise, ignoring the commercials, poor camera angles, and the hour wasted on non race related bs, it was similar to being at the track.

    Fixing Attendance

Rick Allen, Jeff burton, and dw would be great reasons to skip the tv thing.

What happened to the incar audio?

I’ll give it a shot, only ten dollars for the remainder of the season.

What happened to the incar audio?

How close to real-time is it?

What happened to the incar audio?

Up until nbc took over, both xm and the Fox Sports go app were providing incar audio for at least five different teams. Now you need either a Sirius series receiver, a siriusxm series receiver, or use their severely multi minute delayed app if you only have a xm series receiver, and they’re only...

    Talladega as the regular-season finale?

Ending the restrictor plates would probably be the final nail for the series. It would be the same level of stupidity as Cart taking Indy off the schedule, and thinking they could maintain enough of a following to maintain a series. All this sports needs is a leader that recognizes a piss poor...

    NASCAR Death Bed

About damn time, hopefully they actually use it. And in the future start rearranging the schedule to get historically wet races(Bristol, summer Daytona, atlanta, pocono) to drier calendar dates.

2017 NASCAR Season - Television Ratings Thread

They’re losing to golf tournaments on a consistent bases now. The xfinity series is getting buried by godawful college football matchups. About the only thing they dominate that isn’t a complete niche sport is the ufc, non playoff nationally televised mlb games, and hockey.

Denny Hamlin - Drivers are underpaid

Want to get paid more? Put on show instead of sand bagging at talladega, sign autographs instead of ranting on Twitter about the pennies you make from souvenirs, maybe ditch the pc accountant like personalities... Maybe then the races will get more eyes glued to tv and asses in the seats and...

2017 Dover - Apache Warrior 400 - Pre Race Thread

Lucky, rain and wind forecasted here. Probably clean out the garage and winterize a couple of the summer toys.

    The Announcers Thread

I’ll never understand why SiriusXM is often delayed by as much as 3 minutes, yet the the video streaming services(dish anywhere, nbc sports, and fox sports go) are nearly live to never more than 20 seconds behind. Another problem with mrn, they’ll trail off half way through the race and talk...

    daytona 500 2018

About 40 rows up, you’ll see 85% of the track, and the very top row, I usually see 99%(rotating signs on top of the scoring tower will block everyone’s view). Sat 5 rows up one year, and I may as well have watched from home.

    Inflate-gate

What you do is design a failure to drop the rear end a half inch on normally inflated tires. Do your burnout and blow both tires. Replace blown tires with over inflated tires to regain lost height. Whether the fraction of a inch is enough to give a car enough speed to lap the field twice, if...

NASCAR stages road course test at Charlotte Motor Speedway

The only benefit is unblocked site lines. I hate going to road courses and seeing 5 seconds of action, followed by a minute of silence. Typically I'll watch the first couple laps, walk the grounds, and maybe find a place near the finish line during the final ten laps. Otherwise your just...
