Both were new. Ouch! Need a pair of small snap ring pliers to remove the drive pulley. May just go to Advance and see if can borrow them for the 3 seconds I need. There is a spanner nut under it that have to figure out way to get it off.

Removed the saw motor and started disassembly. One of the new brushes is almost completely gone. Junk. I'd have thought buying 40 brushes for 8 bucks would be a goof idea? No chance they'd be complete junk! Going to remove the armature, refinish the commutator, and scrounge up a good set of brushes.

The addition of the 2x6 overhang used 14 shingles which is 2/3 a bundle. So that is why ran out. May have purchased the odd bundle of 3 tab for the cap but didn't remember.
