    Throwback Thursday

My grandmother worked for Howard's Photo Lab for many years until she was forced to retire at age 63 due to injuries from a car accident. The business is long gone of course, but the building is still there, across the street from the Fort Wayne International Airport terminal. In later years...

What kind of car do you drive?

On March 12th, my beloved gray 11 month old 2022 Colorado that I bought new with 9 miles on it was totaled by one of mankind's lowest possible life forms, the hit and run driver. After my insurance company did to me what Boggs did to Andy Dufresne in the Shawshank laundry, I picked up this blue...

    Silly Season 2025

Well Jr, there's your chance to get into the game. A Chevy team, another North Carolina boy as as a co-owner, what's not to love? ;) The only question is how much is Tad and Jodi's piece of the charter actually worth? Of course I'm just throwing this out there to watch the food fight, but...

Other than the winner, was there any Toyota's left in one piece?

    The Announcers Thread

I had high hopes for Harvick, but either he isn't as good as I hoped, or Clint is just dragging him down. I'm not as critical of the announcers as many of you are, but several times lately I have said out loud "What the hell was THAT?" Even with all the excess NBC yammering, it comes off much...

Has Chase Elliot @28 gained a step?

That wasn't aggression, that was retaliation, and Denny had one coming, it just shouldn't have gone down like it did.

Has Chase Elliot @28 gained a step?

Agressive is ALWAYS good for a race car driver, as long as you don't cross the line. For the past year or so, Chase has been too timid in my opinion, and I assume it's because he hasn't been comfortable with the car. He finally looked VERY comfortable yesterday. If you are going to go toe to...

Has Chase Elliot @28 gained a step?

OK, but yesterday was EXACTLY the kind of races that Chase has had trouble closing the deal on in the past. I REALLY liked what I saw yesterday. They were bold on strategy and Chase was going forward on all but maybe one restart. He took a no prisoners attitude on the those final few...

Has Chase Elliot @28 gained a step?

What's the narrative? The guy has been in an admitted slump since the fall of 2022, and in MY opinion, Chase is finally figuring out how he needs to drive the car, and the team is figuring out how to give him what he needs. It's been a slower progression than us Elliott fans wanted of course...

Has Chase Elliot @28 gained a step?

Agree 100%. I started noticed a real change about six weeks ago, even when the results didn't always show it. As Harvick kept saying, I really loved his aggressiveness today. With the cars so evenly matched, Mr. Nice Guy doesn't get it done anymore.

    Stewart-Haas Racing

Well, I'm not suggesting they should be out jabbering about it all the time, but if there is absolutely zero truth to the reports of selling charters, you would think it would be in their best interest to put out an absolute firm denial, unless they have reason to keep people guessing.

Well, they are getting married at a historic inn across the street from the battlefield, and that was the only date they could get. The groom is one of my favorite cousins, and it's his first marriage. The wife and I are taking the scenic route through the mountains coming and going, so it...

I'm bummed, because I am going to be at a wedding in Yorktown Virginia about the time the race ends. I'll probably miss the 500 and 600 for the first time since I graduated from high school in 1985.

I obviously have no idea what SHR is going to do charter wise, and I think compelling arguments can be made for either course of action, but to my knowledge, SHR hasn't done much of anything to put out the fire. Maybe it's a motivation tactic. "Get a hell of a lot better this year, or a third...

    Silly Season 2024

If SHR wanted to do their own chassis, they could have done so and remained a Chevy team. If HMS didn't want to play ball, they could always get their engines from ECR. Also don't forget all the people HMS sent over there to help SHR, and when they split up, a lot of those stayed with SHR...

    Silly Season 2024

SHR is the one that left, and the results prove HMS was giving them the good stuff. If the shoe was on the other foot, and this were a Toyota deal, you would be leading the charge to burn Gene Haas at the stake. HMS and Chevy put the team together in the first place, and after they couldn't...

    Silly Season 2024

You would have a VERY hard time convincing me Chevy would have the slightest interest in SHR, Jr. or no Jr. One, it would be a huge slap in the face to their current partners, and two, the last Chevy-SHR marriage didn't end well. The ONLY way I could see Jr. being interested is if he and Kelly...
