Sounds like it was quite the eventful weekend! I wasn't able to watch, but did hear the end where the last driver was thankful to not get bumped. I'm going to take a peek at that list again.

Well, yesterday at CarbDay was a washout. Those pagoda suites are very nice. I got to eat some nice food all day.

The IndyCars only got out for 12 minutes for practice. The Freedom 100 race (Firestone Indy Lights) was cancelled due to rain, as well as the pit-stop challenge and the vintage car laps. I still got to see Danica twice yesterday though.:beerbang:

The only thing that went on as scheduled was the concert...Stone Temple Pilots. Pretty good show. I seen a lot of people get pulled out of the crowd and hauled away by the police. Crazy.

They are going to try and run the Freedom 100 race today.

Indy pre-race is already on ESPN2, moving to ABC at the top of the hour.

I LOVE today, 3 series of racing, from sun up past sun down whoo hoo! :bounce:

I have never had any respect for Danica Patrick for any reason, but seeing her looking down and listening to her iPod during the national anthem seals it for me.

Maybe she'll wreck enough people and then throw her teammates under the bus again so that she'll lose her sponsorship and be relegated to softcore porn on Skinemax Friday nights.

Go AJ-IV!

EDIT: Seems she couldn't slow down race prop for Taps, either.

I'm glad I got the most ridiculous post of the day out of the way this early.

Soomeone needs to kick Ryan Briscoe's ass a few times.

Too bad Tony Stewart's not in IRL to do it.

He crashes somebody every race, whether its himself or wrecking someone else.

Scott Dixon, for Chip Gannassi, wins the Indianapolis 500 from the pole.

Congrats to Dixon :beerbang: Ganassi's cars were fast all month.
Congrats also to (single car operation) Panther Racing's Vitor Meira coming in second. Marco Andretti finished 3rd, good finish for AGR.

I have to say I thought ABC's coverage of the race was horrible. The start was covered badly, they missed quite a few incidents on the track and I felt like we saw 5 laps and then a commercial--usually during green while we could watch all the yellow laps . The commentating was OK, I like Cheever better in the booth than on the track.

Somebody PLEASE!

Tell Fisher there is no CRYING in IRL RACING! I nearly laughed myself out of my chair seeing someone in a protective fire suit crying and sobbing on national TV!!
Betsy:rolleyes:

I feel so bad for her. She put damn near her life savings into that team to run that race and had her car and everything wiped out because Marco Andretti pulled his head off his shoulders.

Man, I feel so bad for Sarah, she put everything she had into this race, and did it on her own. Not only does she have the right to cry, I'd have to say I'd even have cried after all she went to.

Glad you fell out of your chair, hope you hurt yourself.

Can someone PLEASE tell me why Jack Arute still gets to ruin Indy 500 victory lanes? Jesus! That idiot has completely ruined every single victory lane I've ever seen him in (and that's quite a few) with his stupid comments and questions. And now, he's even pushing the guy with the milk out of the way.

WHY DOES THE IRL STILL LET HIM IN THE GATE?!?!?!?!

Damn, I HATE that guy!

Agreed. I felt so bad for her. I almost cried myself, she went through so much and had her dreams dashed because someone wanted to make a bonehead move. It's a shame because I like Marco.

The Andretti's are usually very classy. I've almost got the feeling that Michael will help out Sarah. You could tell he and Marco both felt bad for her. Of course everyone, except Betsy, felt bad for Sarah.

Good job for miera going against odd for a good finish.

Briscoe and Wild Thing should hook up reallllllly well out at eldora next month........

What a boring race. I stopped watching it before the halfway point, then picked it up with 13 laps to go when ABC decides to go to a commercial.

I had a great time at the track. I got to hang out with Danica before the race in the green room before they announced the drivers. I also escorted some celebrities and hung out with them in the celebrity suites. I also ate very well. Ate all day. The ones I met are Patricia Heaton, Jenna Elfman, Kristi Yamaguchi, Julianne Hough, Slash, Allison Sweeney.

After the race, I hung out in the Pagoda suite with Vision Racing. The team, drivers, and Tony George was there. That was pretty cool.

Here are my highlights of the race..

Danica Patrick was crashed out by Ryan Brisco. This upset me. She ran solid all day, had a good car and was in a position to win this race.Boy was she mad, the top IRL security guy(my boss) had to make her leave th pits because she was going over to his pit area.

Kudos to Scott Dixon for winning the 500.

Vitor Meira made the pass of the century when he passed on lap 160 going from 3rd to 1st. I was hoping he would of won since Danica was out.

Sarah Fisher had a bad day. Her car didnt start at the beginning, Spun out on a caution lap and struck Kanaan's car later in the race.

I was also impressed with Townsend Bell.

There were quite a few yellow flags in the race.
