2014 Dover - FedEx 400 benefiting Autism Speaks - Pre Race Thread

Shout out to Brett Moffit.

17th for him. He did a darn good job and he is Waltrip's test driver, no?
Yep. Surprising to me that he isn't at least in Trucks or Nationwide...I mean, he finished 2nd or 3rd in the K&N East five years in a row.

For having the fastest cars in the garage, I feel like Logano and Keselowski should be better than 7th and 10th in points and have more than three combined wins.

Probably sponsorship as usual. For instance, RHR in the trucks shut down Brian Ickler and the 7 team. Hell, Jeb Burton would not have raced this week either if a sponsor did not jump on. Nothing is guaranteed these days if no money is given up at the front door. He'll eventually get a step up.

They're the best in qualifying not the races. 24 48 and 4 have been the fastest cars most of the year. Bad luck and gimmicky cautions have prevented them from winning more

The lower two national series are in dire need of cost-cutting.

10 is 14 in practice now....Love the pick up from qualifying...maybe set up better for the race this time

Practice results just show the fastest 1 lap. What you need to look at is fastest 10 and 15 lap times.

Well I hope Danica has a better race at Dover than she did at the Coca Cola 600. I was really hoping she'd get another good finish at Charlotte, but alas, it wasn't meant to be.

Gordon on qualifying,
“Pretty solid effort. Our car was good all day and the first run out was a little bit better lap time. But I knew that we were going to be pretty tight. We made a big adjustment and it helped, just not enough to put that lap down that we really needed to compete for the pole. All in all I’m very excited about this race on Sunday the car is really excellent."

Look out yall.

I just don't get excited about this race for some reason
Looking at how much of a snoozer the nationwide race was, I dont blame you. The cars are way too aero tight to pass. Dive into the corner you just lose the nose completely. Makes it nearly impossible to get under neath anybody to pass. Gonna be another race where whoever is out front in clean air on restarts will take off and win the race.

The concept of this track is great, high banked 1 mile concrete track. Its fast and you really have to get up on the wheel at this place. NASCAR just hasn't brought a car with a good enough package where they can actually race side by side and pass. Hopefully I'm wrong and the new packages on the cars this year will make for better racing than previous years.
