Get off my frozen tundra.
Get off my frozen tundra.
Random fact I found: Jimmie Johnson has completed 100% of the laps run at Fontana during his career (4,484 out of 4,484). Amazing.
Mmmmm, jury is out on the torn hood Interstate Batteries paint scheme.
5.74 average finish here. Pretty safe bet, although I think it comes down to JGR and Penske again.Soo...you're thinkin it's safe to gamble a pick on Jimmie this weekend?
The aging surface helped produce good racing. Actually, a lot of the California races since 2009 have been pretty good.
Good ol NASCAR. Only waiting till someone gets injured to take action on the obvious.1,000 feet of SAFER barrier has been added inside Turn 4.

It might actually look like that after the race is over.Mmmmm, jury is out on the torn hood Interstate Batteries paint scheme.
Did Andy really just say something positive about a non-short track? I can't believe it!

According to Jayski, they decided not to make the trip. Just 43 cars on the entry list now.I want to see Dave Blaney's new team make the race for once.

Yep, could be another TRD detonation at Fontana. That track can be hell on engines sometimes. It might actually look like that after the race is over.
In case this still means anything to anyone.....

Bummer. At some point we may not even have a full field.According to Jayski, they decided not to make the trip. Just 43 cars on the entry list now.
I wouldn't say the drivers are. There have been multiple advocates of putting up more barriers recently.Everyone involved from the drivers to Nascar to the track owner is putting the almighty dollar ahead of safety by not installing those barriers.
I like it.A slightly different way of looking at the standings . . .
I understand that would void the television contract.Bummer. At some point we may not even have a full field.
I like it, It's more realistic.A slightly different way of looking at the standings . . .

Although they look identical, it must be true what they say about Auto Club and Michigan being two different tracks. Jimmie practically owns Auto Club but can't get out of his own way at Michigan.Random fact I found: Jimmie Johnson has completed 100% of the laps run at Fontana during his career (4,484 out of 4,484). Amazing.
The only similarities is that they are both 2 mile D-shaped ovals. ACS has less banking and longer front & rear straightaways, is wider and ACS pit stalls are 8' longer.Although they look identical, it must be true what they say about Auto Club and Michigan being two different tracks. In other words they are sister tracks.. but Auto Club is the fatter.. older sister. The only similarities is that they are both 2 mile D-shaped ovals. ACS has less banking and longer front & rear straightaways, is wider and ACS pit stalls are 8' longer.

A lot bumpier and an older surface with more tire wear too.The only similarities is that they are both 2 mile D-shaped ovals. ACS has less banking and longer front & rear straightaways, is wider and ACS pit stalls are 8' longer.
