2014 Las Vegas - Kobalt Tools 400 - Pre Race Thread

I heard the Menard's are registered at Home Depot and Lowe's for baby gifts..
 
Well, unless he is going to deliver the baby himself...that's not a good excuse to miss a race.:D
 
I just got back from dropping some friends off at the airport for their 45 minute flight to Vegas for the race. Damn, i wished i hadn't already committed myself to a boat race this weekend.:(

lol Sorry man. Gordon is looking good though in...23rd? I hate Vegas. Last year's race there was by far the team's worst in which they didn't have a mechanical/tire failure or were involved in a wreck.
 
You gotta look at some of those other top 10 cars though... Cole Whitt... Danica Patrick.. Josh Wise.. Trevor Bayne.. Michael McDowell... who knows what each team is doing.. but we all know this isn't what the leaderboard will look like on sunday.

Lots of qualifying runs...drivers who absolutely have to get in on time or are dangerously low in owner's points if they don't make the top 36.

Yup... I could see why they would want to focus on that first... cant make the money if u don't make the race. The bigger teams can practice race runs all day today and do qualifying runs tomorrow some time.

I bet the Dos Equis guy says, I don't always drink beer, but when I do I say, Drivers and Danica, start your engines..
 
What'd they forget to put oil in it? Didn't even get up to speed. Probably a line or something I would think
 
Ugh, not a great weekend by Gordon so far. Hopefully they have a plan 28th in testing, 18th so far in this practice...
