That's so last week.

It will be a completely new experience when it starts raining. Just picture this. The pack is approaching turn 3 with flaming steam rising from their front tires. Spotters are yelling 'puddle low in turn 4' as the entire field heads for the same spot. Tony blocks everyone, and a dozen flaming pinwheels rise off the track, creating a pyrotechnic display Grucci would be proud of. Awesome stuff!

Very excited, I've got the entire weekend off to watch Nationwide and Cup at my favorite track

Talladega infield to get even wilder with BBQ sauce wrestling.

The infield at Talladega Superspeedway has long been known for hosting the wildest parties in NASCAR.

Now the track is promoting that distinction and taking it to a new level with its “Big One on the Blvd.,” a Friday night parade celebrating the infield rowdiness.

The Talladega scene, which typically features scantily clad women and all sorts of crazy fan attire and antics, will now include a Moonpie eating contest and BBQ sauce wrestling. Sprint Cup drivers Clint Bowyer, Kevin Harvick, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (and possibly Danica) and Austin Dillon will be on hand for the May 2 party to witness the festivities and interact with fans.

The drivers will start the Mardi Gras-style parade at 7:45 ET by tossing out swag to fans. The parade will proceed to the south end of the boulevard, where participants will see how many Moonpies they can consume, and then grapple in a pit of BBQ sauce.

Danica Patrick will be in the Talladega infield on Saturday night to help crown a “tailgate champion” for Coke Zero.

Talladega Superspeedway Chairman Grant Lynch said the track party “brings attention to one of the most extraordinary camping areas in the whole sport.”

“For years, drivers have loved coming out to Talladega Blvd.,” Lynch said in a track news release. “What better way to start off an event weekend … than to hold the craziest parade the sport has ever seen.”

Never heard of ice cream? ;)

Sometimes, the cream rises to the top of the fence. Then I scream, you scream, we all scream....wait, I think I confused myself again. What were we talking about?

I laughed so hard I chocked on some cheetos and made a scene at work.

Really don't understand the love for plate racing. To me it's the equivalent of giving 43 semi truicks on cruise control on a four lane highway.

But I guess because the Daytona 500 is our "Superbowl," we're stuck with it.

Some may hate it, but the mid- late 90s and early 2000s plate races were so good. Those days are what made some of us fall in love with it. Cars moved around a lot more back then. Seems like never a dull moment in the middle of the races back then.

My god I remember this like yesterday. This was when I was a Huge Bobby Labonte fan. Had me scared sh** less.

Intensity defined.

The only good thing about super speedways and plate racing is waiting for the big one, otherwise, you can sit at a train crossing and see the same thing.

should be lotsa r&d this weekend for that.

They have a better plate package this year (in Cup, that is). If Daytona was any indication, it's going to be nuts.

Good news, Kasey Kahne and Kyle Larson are the only Cup drivers in Saturday's Aaron's 312.

Lol you won't have to worry about Kahne winning. He will be lucky to come out of this weekend alive with his luck

Tandem drafting was the best. It was a sad, sad day when Nascar bunched them back up just hoping for a 'big one'.

Welcome to the forum frow78 . Great point . Nascar keeps on messin with the product trying to find something that attracts more viewers . Something like baseball going to 4 strikes .:)

Read that Jimmie Johnson, Kasey Kahne & Dale Jr with new cars for Dega. Jeff Gordon using Daytona 500 car (4th)

Talladega chassis selections LINK

Danica, still using up the old stuff.

#10-Danica Patrick will pilot Chassis No. 10-758 which was wind-tunnel tested in January 2013 before being used by Patrick in the Daytona 500. Patrick qualified the car on the pole with a speed of 196.434 mph and then started first and finished 17th in the first Budweiser Duel. She started on the pole and led five laps in the Daytona 500 before finishing eighth - the best finish ever for a woman in the "Great American Race." Patrick next drove Chassis 10-758 in May at Talladega, where Patrick started 23rd and finished 33rd after being involved in a late-race accident. The car was rebuilt and wind-tunnel tested throughout the summer and then Patrick drove it in October at Talladega, where she finished 33rd after a pit-road speeding penalty cost her any chance of a good finish. Patrick drove chassis No. 10-758 in January 2014 testing at Daytona before piloting it once again in the non-points-paying Sprint Unlimited at Daytona in February. Patrick, who ran as high as fourth in the early part of the event, was caught up in a multicar accident on lap 35, relegating her to a 16th-place finish. The car has been rebuilt and wind-tunnel tested since that race in preparation for Sunday's Aaron's 499.

On SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Marcus Ambrose says he's looking forward to knockout qualifying this weekend at Talladega. After Richmond I have to wonder what he means by that.
