Because of approaching winter storm many NASCAR teams rushing to send out haulers tonight to Atlanta.
Yeah, it's encouraging to see 48 cars entered. I hope the trend continues through the season. Nothing puts the dull in qualifying like having 43 cars entered, unless it's 42...Are there going to be ~5 cars gping home almost every week? Seeing 49 cars for the 500 is to be expected, but didn't know Atlanta would still have a lot. I guess either it'll start dissipating through the season or these qualifying sessions are gonna get interesting,
I'm not sure why they're in a panic. It's not that far out of their way to go down I-77 through Columbia and then west on I-20.Good move. It looks like the real storm will be northern GA and into the Carolinas.
For me, the higher the chance of rain, the better.Whoooa easy there.. be positive.. thats a 60% chance of no rain!
Yeah I guess thats a pretty good reason to want rain... I, however.. do not have that luxury lol.. I'm hoping for sunny skies sunday afternoon like 99.999% of the rest of the fans lolFor me, the higher the chance of rain, the better.
?
I hate the traffic at AMS, so I never plan on going to a scheduled race. On those occasions it gets rained out, I zip over there the next day from Lexington, SC. I don't have to hassle with parking or traffic, buy a cheap ticket down in the chicken bone seats, and sit where I want. I can usually turn the entire trip in about 12 - 13 hours.
stupid weather. mother nature is not a race fan
Oh, certainly. I don't have any money tied up in it, and I don't want to see other folks lose their investments in tickets, rooms, gas, etc. I've been in those circumstances a time or two myself.Yeah I guess thats a pretty good reason to want rain... My friend in ATL is saying there are already sending out notices and preparations for snow through many businesses and government offices even though they aren't reporting it just yet because they don't want to cause mass panic (ala the Snowmaggedon of 2014)
If we don't have race Sunday I'm gonna cry.
People in the South need to chill! Atlanta is supposed to see what, an inch of snow? Like someone said, up until the GA/NC border, no one is supposed to see more than a couple of inches of snow.

Still a month away from then. Average temps in Martinsville for that weekend are a high of the mid 60's and lows in the upper 30's. Once you get up to my seat location and factor in the wind on a 60 degree day, it takes us back down in the 40's. I will be prepared. Always am.Im more concerned about whats going to happen a month or so from now if the cold holds up like it has been... only another 4 weeks until Martinsville.. how's West Virginia look? lol
Exactly, last year a storm locked the entire cityThe south does not have the infrastructure to handle it...what do they have like one plow for the entire state?

and the roads were parking lots.
Chains. Put the dang chains on and really work in that groove.get out the studded tires..the show must go on.

I've taken a blood oath to never live where the highway department owns plows or salt. The south does not have the infrastructure to handle it...what do they have like one plow for the entire state?
I wish I had done the same. The seasons are nice but I'm really growing tired of dealing with the cold.I've taken a blood oath to never live where the highway department owns plows or salt.
