Teams reminded about rules on no pulling side skirts. Also stressed just 2 crew members at cars after race.

It sure does, crew could have illegal mod on car during race and then correct it after the race. Harder to do with just 2 crew members with the car.

Does this mean they are no longer escorted by an official? We wouldn't want Nascar to have to keep an eye on them or anything like that.

Only two crew members with the car after the race?

I think Kevin Harvick may have picked his last fight. ;)

Just talked to the weather service no more rain but we have pesky fog 98% humidity and 38 degrees , there will be racing!

  • New rules limits crew members on pit road at end of race: A new NASCAR postrace procedure for Sprint Cup teams could limit the possibility of a big postrace brawl breaking out, as one did at Texas Motor Speedway last November. NASCAR officials confirmed Saturday they will stop all cars on pit road following a race because NASCAR must collect the tapered spacer used to limit air flow through the engine. That piece is issued to teams on a weekly basis so that teams cannot alter it. With just a couple of crew members needed to remove the spacer, NASCAR has issued an edict that only two crew members per car will be allowed at each Cup car immediately after the race. That will keep pit road from getting too cluttered, officials say. With only two crew members at each car after a Cup race, that will limit the number of crew members from each team in a contained area. In the past, several crew members would surround the top-5 cars on pit road and the crews would surround the rest when they parked at their haulers postrace.(ESPN)(3-1-2015)

Ah.. well that does make it easier for Nascar to pick up the spacers. So what about shocks? They give those out too.

I think fights could still happen in the garage area (see Charlotte, Oct 2014) with this new post race rule.

As for the rain I think we'll get the race in, but I wouldnt mind some night racing x:

Teams will be running their own shocks today.

Ok. It has been a long time ago I saw them giving out shocks. I wasn't completely sure if they were still doing that. But, it is unusual for Nascar to give up something.

The Atlanta race squirrel is being kept in a safe dry place by Chad Knaus. Well fed and rested to be released to wreck havoc at the most strategic times.

Darrell Waltrip wasn't doing the coverage when Magic Squirrel made his debut at the 2014 Atlanta race. Be prepared for many make up corny Squirrel jokes and squirrel analogies today.
