2016 Dover - AAA 400 Drive for Autism - Pre Race Thread

Well, ya see, it's all about the technology. The cars are really fast, although there are few straightaways long enough for them to run at full speed for very long. And they're really maneuverable, and the tracks feature a lot of turns, although this results in few passing zones or position changes. But they look really cool!

I try to watch F1 once or twice a year, usually Monaco since it's on the same day as Indy and Charlotte. Honestly, I think there's more excitement in watching a golf broadcast.
Monaco? LOL

Another half empty crowd here in Dover. It really does seem to get less and less every race. I'm glad they moved this race to mid may. Weather is beautiful for me. Gets too hot here in June for me sometimes.

the groove is too narrow for safer on top.
Put the SAFER in; the groove will move down. These guys will let the car slide out as far as the wall will let them. They'd always like more, but there's always going to be a wall there somewhere. The drivers will adjust; they have before.

I agree. Didn't they say the same thing about Darlington? Didn't affect much there.

Nope..... Too busy trying to find what is so appealing in this F1 race on NBCSN. Can someone, anyone, tell me what the fascination is with this sport? Wake me up when someone passes someone for position. I think I'm gong to have to take a Xanax just to get my day started after watching this. ;)
Spain is the third-toughest circuit to pass on.

Posted at 12:40, there were more people there by green, and there were far more people this year then last year

It did have some more people by green, I took some pictures during the race too but there were still tons and tons of empty seats everywhere.

I thought this year was the best crowd in a couple years. Even with the empty seats, still a large gathering of people. Another thing I think helped, was where I sat in Turn 3 at the beginning of the grandstand was 50 dollars General admission and if you wanted you could get a Fanvision for the race with the voucher that came with the ticket. Whoever came up with the GA idea gets two thumbs up

That hurts to look at, but hell...at least you're there! Lord knows I would be. Kudos to you.
I really wonder how Bill Sr. and Jr. would have handled the situation we are in.... as far as deteriorating fan base..... Lord knows Brian doesn't have a clue except to just keep removing seats to make the place look full and keep making a mockery of the Championship to make it resemble a WWE finale.....

Those may be the first GA seats I've heard of since they converted the Martinsville back stretch to an RV lot a few years ago.
