2017 Michigan - Pure Michigan 400 - Pre Race Thread

It's been a rough summer that's for sure.. I'll believe he's caught a break when he rolls into victory lane lol anything else probably won't be enough
Right. Michigan and Bristol are his best shots, imo.

If 3-4 stages per race are good wait until Nascar goes to 4-5 next year. I don't notice enough meaningful difference with stage racing to overcome the long delays between the stages and the needless ticking off of laps run under caution. I think I am in the minority on this and I respect the opinion of those who like them.

That's fine, and I respect your opinion.
More stages would not be fun. Keep it as it is. :)

JJ hates this aero package IMO, and Hendrick/Chevy haven't been able to give him anything to like it more.

They've won 8 races with this aero package. Same deal as last season, had wins and top 3-5 speed up until May. Dont think they dislikr it.

It's the same old song. We shouldn't be taking anything they do the last 8-12 races before the chase seriously. It's "experiment with loose setups" time

Bingo.

Yeah, I have posted about this several times, and if you come from the school of thought that there needs to be a direct connection between street and track, then the manufacturer loyalty doesn't make sense. If you buy into the thinking that racing is a manufacturer's expression of what it can do on the track, then there is more of a connection. It has been quite some time from the days of drive it off of the track and home IMO.

That makes sense as I don't see manufacturer when watching cup but I am a big fan of Toyota vehicles.

Both you and I are probably in the minority....... I don't mind the stage racing........ as it probably makes the drivers race harder for points... what pisses me off is throwing the caution..... there is no reason for that.... just score 'em as they cross the line and let the race continue.....that shouldn't be so difficult to do......

Really looking forward to the race today. I could have went out but decided to play golf this morning and multitask between the race and PGA Championship. Michigan has always been one of my favorite tracks despite the quality of racing being so-so the last 10-15 years.

Good to see Kyle's mature stint was only because he was defending champion. Back to his usual self

Is it too early to declare KK's pass fail on Juarez as the Bonehead move of the race?
