A busy schedule of Champion's Week activities is ready to begin in Las Vegas to officially conclude the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season.

The annual celebration returns to Vegas for the ninth consecutive year, offering a wide array of events and happenings concluding with Thursday night's Awards Banquet.

This week will not only honor Martin Truex Jr. for his first series championship, but also the drivers who made this year's Playoffs, the Sunoco Rookie of the Year and other award winners.

Motor Racing Network will broadcast a special one-hour "NASCAR Live" on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. (ET) featuring interviews with Truex and his crew chief Cole Pearn. MRN will also broadcast Thursday's Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Awards starting at 7 p.m. (ET). Both will be streamed live at MRN.com and on the MRN App.

NASCAR Champion's Week Schedule

Tuesday, Nov. 28
• NASCAR Fan HQ at The Park: Located a few steps off the Strip between New York-New York, Monte Carlo and T-Mobile Arena, The Park transforms into the NASCAR fan headquarters for Champion's Week in Las Vegas. The activation will include a display of all 16 Monster Energy Series Playoffs race cars, the NASCAR Fan Lounge at Beerhaus, NASCAR Shop by Fanatics, driver autograph sessions, official partner displays from Chevrolet, Ford, Toyota, Sunoco, YETI and Allegiant, ticket giveaways and amplified social media engagement. Open Daily from 1 p.m. - 8 p.m. (PT)
• NASCAR Fan Lounge at Beerhaus: Returning for a second year at Beerhaus, The Park's popular beer hall, the NASCAR Fan Lounge is a top destination for fans throughout Champion's Week. Fans can experience NASCAR content up-close including champion driver meet & greets, industry personality appearances, entertainment, special NASCAR programming as well as food and drink specials. Open Daily from 1 p.m. - 8 p.m. (PT)
• Champion’s Meet & Greet: Champions of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR XFINITY Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series visit the NASCAR Fan Lounge at Beerhaus for a fan Q&A hosted by various NASCAR broadcast personalities from 5 p.m. - 6 p.m. (PT)
• NASCAR Live: Motor Racing Network will broadcast a special one-hour show featuring interviews with Martin Truex Jr. and crew chief Cole Pearn to discuss their journey through the season and 2017 Playoffs. Fans can join “NASCAR Live” host and MRN personality Mike Bagley from 4-5 p.m. (PT), 7 p.m. (ET) for an in-depth look at their road to the championship.
• Appreci88ion An Evening with Dale Earnhardt Jr. Presented by Nationwide: Hosted at Rose. Rabbit. Lie. inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas from 9 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. (PT). The exclusive fan event will feature surprise guests from Earnhardt’s career with proceeds benefitting Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Wednesday, Nov. 29
• NASCAR NMPA Myers Brothers Awards: Members of the media, drivers, teams, tracks, official partners and fans come together to honor and recognize season-ending award winners - held this year, for the first time, in the Encore Theatre at Wynn Las Vegas. In addition, several signature awards are bestowed including the NASCAR Marketing Achievement Award, Buddy Shuman Award and the NMPA Myers Brothers Award. The event will be live-streamed on NASCAR.com.
• NASCAR Fan HQ at The Park, open from 1 p.m. - 8 p.m. (PT)
• NASCAR Fan Lounge at Beerhaus, open from 1 p.m. - 8 p.m. (PT)
• Victory Lap Fueled by Sunoco from 2:30 p.m. - 5 p.m. (PT)
• NASCAR After The Lap Supporting the Vegas Strong Fund at The Chelsea inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas from 8 p.m. - 11 p.m. (PT). This year, the fan event will feature a concert by country music star Lee Brice and the first-ever live-on-stage episode of Glass Case of Emotion, with Ryan Blaney as a host and guests to include Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Playoff drivers. VIP areas hosted by event sponsors, Chevrolet, Ford and Toyota will feature appearances by Playoff drivers. All ticket proceeds from this event will benefit the Vegas Strong Fund assisting victims & strengthening the Las Vegas community.

Thursday, Nov. 30
• NASCAR Fan HQ at The Park, open from 1 p.m. - 8 p.m. (PT)
• NASCAR Fan Lounge at Beerhaus, open from 1 p.m. - 8 p.m. (PT)
• Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Awards: Martin Truex Jr. is crowned champion and the top drivers for the 2017 Monster Energy Series season are honored at the exclusive celebration held at Wynn Las Vegas. The awards will feature all 16 Playoff drivers, include remarks from the Championship 4 and the NMPA Most Popular Driver will be announced. MRN's coverage begins at 7 p.m. (ET).
 
I looked but couldn't find a special award or celebration for the runner up. Aw what a shame.

I think it's time for me to start being more careful about my viewing choices.

I watch far too much television that is obviously becoming less popular.

I used to watch every one of them. It was a big deal when they finally started televising them live. Sometime in the mid 2000's I lost interest, I think mainly due to the lousy Hollywood hosts and the canned thank you speeches from all he drivers. The last one I watched was 2010, as I was bed ridden that week with a serious illness. I suppose if Jimmie wins #8, or Chase or William or Alex wins one, I might tune in again.

not to troll, but what was so good about them that you found it was necessary to give up your time to watch them? I did watch the Jeff Gordon speech from 2015, that was awesome.

Back in the day, (I think 1990 MIGHT have been the first year televised) I think myself and others were just excited to see ANYTHING NASCAR related on TV, and in the days before the internet and social media, a lot of news for the upcoming season was broken while everyone was in New York. It was also a chance to see drivers and their wives in a setting other than the race track. Now, if somebody in the sport farts, it's on Twitter 30 seconds later. As I said, I think the biggest reason I quit watching was NASCAR's lame attempt to go Hollywood with the show and over hype everything and bring in idiotic people like Jay Mohr to make dumb jokes and waste time, when you know they could actually care less and are only there for the check and the exposure. I also got tired of the NASCAR vetted Stepford Wife" driver speeches monotonously cramming in mentions of 98 major and minor sponsors and not saying anything new or even interesting. Just like all of the NASCAR pre-race shows, I just decided that everything I wanted to know I could learn in five minutes off the internet, and if ANYTHING noteworthy actually happens at the banquet, I can always catch it on NASCAR.com or Youtube.

Ah sounds better than what I thought it was, I never knew always thought it was an attempt at a Hollywood affair
 
The banquet has always been a rather dry affair since it's beginnings on television. It is never edge of your seat excitement. We all can think of some memorable moments over the span of its televised existence but it was no better 20 years ago than it is today. I think they call that nostalgia.

Jay Mohr is hilarious I hope he comes back again
 
Jay Mohr to me is as funny as a barrel full of rattlesnakes. That's why I DVR the Banquet so I can FF through most of his crap. My personal opinion.
