Off topic because there is no truck race thread but come one Norm Benning! It was nice to hear other teams helping Norm with his car in order to increase his chances of qualifying. Everybody loves Norm, a throwback kind of guy.

Seems like they have done that for him at Eldora past few years. A nice story to be sure.

No matter how often I tweet our local stations about it they never bring it up. More important to talk about football in not football season to them

Ha. Our local sports station discusses one topic and one only - Univ. South Carolina sports and whoever they're playing this week, period. An ESPN affiliate went on the air, and a woman wrote to the newspaper complaining because they dared discuss out-of-town teams.

About the only change I like this year is the Duel races counting for points. Since they count for partial points, would we still call it a 36 race season or is it 37?

I worked for Norm at the MoSport race last season.. I was the rear tire catcher. Was a hell of an experience.. Hes a hell of a guy.. Old school type... He was the only driver there I saw under his own truck with a wrench. Not only that but at night me and my buddy were walking the track.. We saw a We Love Norm banner on the fence and yelled Yaa Noorm!!... And sure enough Norm came over to the fence.. He was hanging out having a bbq with fans!! We went up had a few burgers and a cpl beers. It was great.. Quite possibly the best experience of my life!
