2018 Bristol - Food City 500 - Pre-Race Thread

Here we go again, looking at the hourly weather forecast for Sunday they show anywhere between 70% - 100% chance of rain between 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm. Just how the heck does this timing happen? Looks like Monday afternoon might be possible.

Eh no

BRISTOL, Tenn. -- The Busch brothers will get to renew their sibling rivalry when the green flag drops for Sunday's Food City 500 (2 p.m. ET, Fox).
Kyle Busch starts on the pole at Bristol Motor Speedway. Kurt Busch starts on the front row beside him. The race (weather permitting) will have an interesting start.

Everyone said the Atlanta race was a sure thing washout.
Looking at the radar it looks like they are going to get some rain for sure, with possible lightening. Based on the forecast it doesn't seem that hour will make a difference. I remember two years ago they actually started in the rain and there was a wreck after the start on the backstretch. I think they then delayed it until around 5 and we had a great night race.

CE was 2nd in 15 lap avg to Kurt who's now going to a backup.

Kurt - 15.32
Chase - 15.36

Different weather on Race Day means practice speeds mean nothing. Just ask General
Ha ha it was about this time last week we had that discussion, one of my “highlights”since joining the board.

Radar shows the eastern edge of the rain is just about on Bristol. It might actually move through by mid afternoon.

Then again, I’m probably just wishful thinking

Just looked on Weatherbug weather app and the radar looks pretty nasty, I'd say the chance for racing today are slim to none.

A little help please. I can't find a list of who's going to the back of the field. Is there anyone besides Harvick and Kurt?
