Why do they have the "Coca Cola Racing Family" included in that chart? Who cares?

That whole thing is so stupid anyway. Like there's anyone out there who specifically cheers for the group of drivers that are sponsored by Coke. 'Oh hey, I'm a Toyota fan.....yeah that's cool, I'm a Hendrick Motorsports fan.....oh nice, I'm a Coke Racing Family fan' lol gimme a break.

The drivers themselves don't give a crap either. It's not like they go "hey I better race this guy clean, he's my Coke teammate"

Correction Kurt Busch fastest in second practice

Because Coke paid to have them identified on the chart.

Other way around. There are people who will buy Coke it sponsors their favorite driver. Celebrity endorsement is a basic marketing tool.

Last time I checked, Chevrolet makes the cars they race. Manufacturers play a role in the racing itself. Not sure what you're getting at?
Manufacturers are in racing as a form of advertising, same as Coke. This is especially true in so-called stock car racing, where the cars have little to do with their showroom counterparts, and where the manufacturers aren't getting any R&D knowledge they can take back to production models.

I know, I'm just whining.

My point is that you can have Gibbs cars sweep the top four, and we will all notice and talk about it. When a bunch of Fords are at the top of the charts, it's noteworthy. But nobody follows where the "Team Coke" drivers are running because it's irrelevant, and the only thing they have in common is that Coke pays them to be in some lame commercial.

I understand how advertising works, and I'm glad Coke invests in nascar. I just think it's cheezy and distasteful in this particular instance. Just my opinion.

I'll stop complaining now :D

But at least there's a competition-related reason why the OEM would be listed on there; that's the equipment they're running. Obviously Coke ponied up for it, but it's a little weird that Coke Family is on there now even though it's nothing more than marketing - no actual team links or anything.

Not a big deal at all, but certainly a little goofy.

Ohh really?? I’m just in training now.. working on getting my CDLS to get my own route , was the test hard?
I had a Class A with dubs, trips and HazMat certification. HazMat was the hard p.i.t.a. You won't need that with Coke, probably won't need the doubles and triples, but get it if they pay for it. UPS, FedX, and some others pull wiggle wagons.
