TEMPERANCE, Mich. (January 31, 2024) – A bevy of championship contenders and high profile part-time drivers highlights a growing preliminary entry list for the ARCA Menards Series season opener at Daytona International Speedway.
Andres Perez, who finished second in the run for the 2023 season championship behind Jesse Love, has filed an entry along with his Rev Racing teammate Lavar Scott.
They are joined by a trio of championship contenders out of the Venturini Motorsports stable, Kris Wright, Amber Balcaen, and Toni Breidinger. Christian Rose, driver of the AM Racing entry, has filed an entry, as has Bounty Rookie Challenge contender Caleb Costner. Michael Maples, another Bounty Rookie contender for 2024, has filed his entry to drive for 1995 ARCA Menards Series champion Andy Hillenburg’s Fast Track High Performance Racing team.
Independent drivers Brad Smith and Alex Clubb, who are also expected to compete in each of the series’ 20 races, have also filed their entries.
The preliminary entry list for the Daytona ARCA 200 also includes several other big names, including Andy Jankowiak, who won last weekend’s Gambler Classic TQ Midget indoor race in Atlantic City, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series regular Tanner Gray, who will be driving for Joe Gibbs Racing, and Venturini Motorsports teammates Jake Finch and Gus Dean.
Defending Daytona ARCA 200 winner Greg Van Alst has filed two entries, one for himself and the other for fellow Indiana resident Isaac Johnson. NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour regular and NASCAR Xfinity Series team co-owner Patrick Emerling is entered with a self-owned team, and last year’s fifth-place finisher Mandy Chick has also filed her entry.
Shane Van Gisbergen, the Australian V-8 Supercar champion and winner of the inaugural NASCAR street race in Chicago, has also filed an entry. Van Gisbergen will do double duty on raceday as he’s also expected to compete in the NASCAR Xfinity Series race after the conclusion of the ARCA race.
A total of 47 entries have already been received with the possibility of several more being filed before the deadline. The complete official entry list is expected to be released as early as next week.
The first official on-track activity of the 2024 season is scheduled for Thursday, February 15 when the teams take to the track for a 50-minute practice session. The 40-car starting lineup will be set in General Tire Pole Qualifying on Friday, February 16, with the 80-lap/200-mile season-opener to follow on Saturday, February 17. The race will be televised live on FS1 starting at 1:30 pm ET; it will also be broadcast on select affiliates of the MRN Radio nationwide.
There are 50 cars on the ARCA Daytona entry list

Imagine if they had 30-50 cars for every ARCA race like they used to, NASCAR could have an actual development series.
I remember ARCA STARTING 50 cars at Rockingham in 2008. (ARCA was a ton of fun that year.)
ARCA might be rebounding though. They have more full-time drivers this year than they've had in the past decade. The West Series also usually has a good car count and a full schedule. The East Series has run its course and needs to be done away with, and probably will be within a few years.
The East Series kinda sucks & should have some sort of partnership with the CARS Tour or something.
As I've said in another thread, think of the CARS Tour as a NASCAR series because it, well, is. The East Series will probably go away.
Unless you are going dirt there are no open paved ovals in New Mexico. Of the 5 oval tracks 4 are open one is currently closed by the city. Sandia Speedway currently only exists in a club road course form, though there is an oval you could use. The thing is East is better as North like it used to be, but modifieds are far more popular than late models in the northeast.New Mexico

Eh, yeah, but CARS Tour at New Hampshire or Dover or Rockingham seems sorta weird. I don’t really care about ARCA East as long as they kept the ARCA National & ARCA West Series.
I'd like to see CARS Tour remain regional, but I also think the handwriting is on the wall.
ACT, which are Late Model Stocks, runs New Hampshire already.
Dover, just make it a national ARCA race.
CARS Tour will probably end up at Rockingham once it's open for real anyway. UARA (Late Model Stock Car series that shut down in 2013) raced there with Late Model Stocks when it was open under Silas and Hillenburg so there's nothing weird about the CARS Tour racing there.
I’m not big on ARCA East but I’m kinda eh on some of the weekend festivities they have at Dover & New Hampshire. I’d love to see a decent East Series race with 20-30 cars at New Hampshire & Dover & Rockingham for that matter.
Guess there’s no $$$ in that so you’re probably right.
ARCA national should be moving around from Dover to Pocono to Winchester IN to NJMP to Kentucky (IMO) instead of locking in tracks all the time. Kansas doesn’t need 2 ARCA races a season either.
I love Dover Downs. I’d be fine if ARCA didn't go there and it was just Craftsman Trucks/Xfinity/Cup. I keep forgetting they only have one date now.
The East Series used to be a ton of fun. Loved going to those races in 2017. Unfortunately, times have changed.
ARCA should definitely return to Winchester, New Jersey, and even Kentucky.
Yikes!
Must’ve been a decent paycheck for the CCM team.
Uh, Willie Mullens & Tim Richmond leading the field to green.
