It's not just y'all, and it's mostly not any individual state. It's a system that measures educational success by the percentage that go on to college. It's the notion that somehow science and math and history change when you cross state lines. It's the idea that athletics merit more attention than academics. It's the conception that all teachers are lazy and overpaid. It's the fear that children are so fragile that they'll be harmed by exposure to new concepts outside of their previous experience.
Eh, we had a spec for a bible that the only one that could fit the specs was the 52 buck Trump bible. That went up the ladder and failed, then the ten commandments failed, but charters schools passed. Whole bunch more shenanigans that didn't help kids getting an education. School lunch programs were killed two years running along with summer school lunches this year. It's like they wanted the public school system to fail....and it did.
This guy just sits around and figures out how to destroy the public school system. After two years of denying school lunches for low income kids, he comes up with this that isn't budgeted. Mandate he calls it.
