From everything I’ve heard and from everything people in the TV world said publicly, Allen Bestwick was going to do the entire IndyCar schedule for FOX. And then Will Buxton got called up.

This race and this speedway is a celebration of being from the Midwest. Every year I get goosebumps for this race. It’s why I fight so hard when people dump on the Brickyard 400 because I see what it can be watching the Indy 500 and the Speedway is so special. Today is a great great day.

Absolutely. It’s one of the most fascinating buildups maybe ever for this great event. I’m stoked.

Weather is on track for the coolest 500 since at least 2013. It should make for awfully racey conditions.

Wasn't practice quite hot? Things could be shaken up for the race quite a bit.

What an intriguing start this’ll be. An oval debutant leading the field to green with Sato and Pato right by his side. Couldn’t have asked for two hungrier drivers to have to fend off at the start.

I think I prefer Fox's approach to NBC's thus far. They are clearly taking some cues from Sky F1, which is a good start. It's more technical and straightforward. I'm not sure how the casuals that are 80-90% of the audience here are going to receive it though. Buxton is good but he doesn't have much presence at this stage in his career.
