Cold tires as well iirc, that was the coldest on record. Wind chill was in the high 30s, whole race was pretty much a disaster until the photo finish between Little Al and Goodyear.

Idk but in the last few years the top two drivers often switched back and forth every lap to save themselves some fuel.
