Eldora is turning sprint car racing into motocross. Not only are there jumps in turn 1, but you can unfortunately expect several contenders to be out with injury after a round of racing there. :/

Reutzel has a broken foot and will be out for a while.

 
Here in Portland Indiana waiting for the storms to finish up, which might be another 45 minutes. Then it's off to see how quickly they can get underway; I'm expecting a late evening.
 
Holmes almost managed to get into the Feature. Couldn't see Sweet from here but heard he took a stretcher ride after that hit.
 
Darin Naida is a kid I've watched a lot of as he's a Michigan product and I'm so happy to see he's gotten to make the show at the Kings Royal. He just hung low and stayed there and it worked.

Also, are Donny's fanboys going to still blame Ford for his performance?
 
Do not even attempt to pretend you expected Kasey Jedrzejek to win the pole.

Tanner Holmes and Brent Marks both need fresh boxers after spinning in front of the field like that.

And now.... feature time next? That seems miraculous since it isn't 2am

The track is finally getting slick and that's when the old Donny can show up. I wouldn't be surprised to see him make a run.

Kofoid manages to make it in due to the late incidents in the B, and he could put on a show from the back as well.

Open red 25 laps in after Kofoid got spun out. So far a good clean race, more old fashioned slicked off Eldora. Macri leading with Abreu in second chasing him. Larson has been advancing and is in fourth. Ryan Smith has that 69K rolling on the bottom in fifth.
 
I really thought it was going to be Rico's night. But Macri leads the entire distance and was never seriously challenged. Huge win for him. Rico second, followed by Larson, Brian Brown, and Gravel. There were a lot of comers and goers, just not up front.
 
Back at the hotel; so happy Macri won. Love seeing guys like him snipe these paychecks. Of all the stories coming into tonight, the biggest one at the end was Macri. Two years ago his dad fired him from this same ride this same week. Now he's on top of the sport.
 
Fun night, good choice to avoid the dash and C-Main going with essentially two features instead. As was said earlier great racing in the A, just not at the front. Macri did whatever he wanted, I’m stunned Rico or Kyle couldn’t chase him down. Gravel was a man on a mission in the A as well
 
Macedo wins the first night of the Ironman 55 weekend at I-55 over Schatz, Kofoid, and Gravel. This was Schatz's best finish of the season, remarkably.
 
Exciting finish to the Ironman 55 as Kofoid passes Haudenschild with a few laps to go and takes another big victory. Tanner Thorson comes with him to finish second from 17th starting spot. Sheldon settles for third
 
Great night for Timms. Here are the night one points. The top 16 in points after the first two nights make the Saturday main.



Day and Rico had to come through the B and passed a lot of cars.
 
Holy crap, Larson wins again and it looks like Brad Sweet will get the hard charger award.
 
Timms will start on the pole Saturday night. Larson having only a decent qualifying run tonight will put him a few rows back in the starting lineup, and it will make it more interesting than when he started on the pole last year.
