From the 19-minute highlight video on YouTube this looked like rather decent race without much chaos before the final lap.
I feel like the caution definitely would've come out for the first crash on the last lap if Chase hadn't been within a few meters from the lead.
At the end it looked like Tyler was the only car left running, he wasn't a fluke winner though. That move on the backstrech was executed perfectly.
Jim France being forced by the requirements of his position as Nascar CEO to put on a fake smile and greet Michael Jordan and Tyler Reddick in VL was a delicious moment of high karma. I mean, the guy just spent 14 months trying to boot 23XI out of Nascar. And now MJ and 23XI has captured the Daytona Friggin' 500 right in Nascar's home town. LOL.I wonder how Jim France felt when he saw MJ in VL![]()
Reminiscent of Pete Rozelle handing Al Davis the Lombardi trophy.Jim France being forced by the requirements of his position as Nascar CEO to put on a fake smile and greet Michael Jordan and Tyler Reddick in VL was a delicious moment of high karma. Not quite the Hollywood script (that would have been Bubba winning), but close enough.Jim France being forced by the requirements of his position as Nascar CEO to put on a fake smile and greet Michael Jordan and Tyler Reddick in VL was a delicious moment of high karma. Hopefully this trend continues all year to prove to them that their sham of a championship system was the cause of a huge chunk of the ratings losses the past dozen years.
I haven't thought of that, but hell yeah, they have it coming. Hell, I know it was painful for me. I had to turn down the sound and listen to the radio because they had less playoff nonsense screwing up the racing. Maybe it will bring back some fans.Hopefully this trend continues all year to prove to them that their sham of a championship system was the cause of a huge chunk of the ratings losses the past dozen years.
