So RPM is considering hiring Kurt Busch to drive the #43.

RPM gets their cars and engines from Roush. I'm sure Roush will give Kurt, a guy he hates, top-tier equipment:sarcasm:

Good move .He will get them a win just like Kasey did for Red Bull.

But Roush, who loathes Kurt Busch, supplies RPM with equipment. What happens if Roush decides, because of this, to no longer supply RPM with equipment? Kurt and Ambrose would become backmarker drivers.

It makes the Penske situation more interesting. Penske might find Allmendinger a good hire whereas he's currently looking at David Ragan (who isn't worth a **** as a racecar driver).

That's a good point. Listening to David Ragan inflate his career statistics is sickening. He's had better equiptment than Kez for all those years, and he did next to nothing.

It's a business deal. You don't have to like the end user of your product as long as their money is good.

I don't think that the business deal between RPM and the company who makes their engines is ,in any way , dependant on which driver is driving one of their cars .I doubt that it concerns Hendrick Engine Dept. that one of their engine buyers won the championship . It's all just business.

Reports are that Best Buy wants Allmendinger out because of his language over the radio. If they want Allmendinger out because of using the f-word over the radio, how could they possibly be okay with Kurt Busch driving the car?

I don't think Roush cares that much about Kurt Busch one way or this other. Business is Business.

Now that's funny . It would be even funnier if they hired Kurt .

Allmenginer's in the same equipment as Ragan, and lets be honest, he probably would have won Dover if Hamlin hadn't turned him and there are other races he's threatened to win in inferior equipment.

Just got a call confirming that Allmendinger is out at the 43. Searching for details.

It can't be Kurt getting together with the king. That would be too friggin weird.

Does anyone know AJ's contract status with RPM? Maybe he jumped ship for Penske, or he's getting bumped by Ragan.

This is interesting.

If Kurt does get a ride here or somewhere else , surely there is someone who can sit him down and help him get his head straight . Maybe that's what Childress was trying to do . It would be a shame to lose his talent from Nascar. Any volunteers?

What do you mean by inferior? I'm guessing you mean RPM vs Roush?

Saw this elsewhere.....

Kurt's possible move to the #43 hinges on whether the Best Buy agrees to change the name of their IT support team to the "Prick Squad."

RPM statement: "We're excited at the prospect of the #43 car, made famous by STP, being driven by an SOB."

I heard they plan to change their name to 'Best Mother Ph***in Buy'.

This just shows how desperate Richard Petty really is to get that car back in victory lane. However...I think this is a wrong move and will get it no closer to there than AJ has...

KuBu will definitely bring Best Buy more attention, but more sales I don't know ;)

And forget what I said in another thread about Ambrose making the chase.

I could see Kurt winning two or three races in that car. But, IF it's true that Best Buy didn't like Allmendinger's language, I don't see any chance in hell of them putting up with Kurt Busch generally being an a**hole.

If Kurt wins a lot, Best Buy wins. But I've already said that, if he does win, the media should ignore him (like they did Regan Smith because of the Harvick/Kryle prick show) and not give him any coverage. As has proven to be the case with Kryle, bad publicity is better than no publicity.

I know Kurt is probably the better driver between the two but I'd pick AJ any day over Kurt and all his drama.

Hopefully just an ugly rumor and nothing more... I do think at least if Best Bug wants 'Dinger out, though, they would at least find someone else other than Kurt.

I knew once Kurt came available that the desperate teams would start posturing themselves to hire him. I just didn't think that Petty was that desperate. Sure Marcos kinda didn't improve as greatly as I thought he should have, but AJ improved remarkably and has given RPM its best points finish in nearly a decade. If I was Penske and could broker the deal to get AJ, I think I would come out on the better end of the deal.

I'll let FenderBumper have at it over the accuracy of Jensen's reporting, he knows how to do the media's job better than the media does.

Two wins this year make Jeff desperate??
And I think people overlook the fact that KuBu brings with him a Champions Provisional that Teams would jump on.

I meant that I believe __all__ drivers are desperate to win.

I had Saran wrap on my monitor and keyboard this time you dirty rat fink... :D

2007-2008 Allmendinger was in Red Bull equipment (even won the Winston Open) while Ragan was in a Roush car.

Oh yeah. I forgot about RB.

Damn straight. Tom shouldn't tweet rumors.

So twitter is blowing up with a lot of disgust and anger towards RPM and Best Buy. Wondering if RPM and BB will see that and change their minds.

We can hope! But AJ going to Penske and the 22 would be a good move for AJ - if it were to happen, that is!
