A strategic #FAIL

Well whether it's with RPM or whoever, I hope Kurt is racing next year. I might be missing something (don't think I am though), but I have yet to see where Kurt did to much more than other drivers have done before him.
He's not the only driver to have it out with reporters. He's not the only driver to talk to his crew like ****. He's not the only driver to have it out with other drivers. He's not the only driver that has acted like an a**hole.

but he has done it all!

Everyone who hates 'start and park' should be praying that Kurt catches a ride with and thereby brings a sponsor to an underfunded small team . This is perfect timing . None of the big teams really have an opening for him . He could end up with a small team . An A list driver with a small team will bring a lot of good sponsorship deals that they could never hope to get with a no name driver .Think Richard Childress and Dale Sr. ....I am surprised to find so many prudes on the forum who are offended by Kurt's language , but there is a lot of bad language everywhere... including this forum.

It's not his language that makes me dislike him. I hear bad words every day. It's his "poor me" syndrome anytime things don't go his way. He yells and cusses at his team, disrespected his owner, yells and cusses at media members. That is not how a professional athlete is supposed to behave. And that gives his sponsors a black eye. Other drivers do it, but not at his level and not as often.

I have no problem with his language. It's his total lack of respect for his crew, other drivers and his I'm better than everyone else attitude.

I'm all for bringing sponsorship to the smaller teams. But I also hope it would somewhat humble Kurt if he had to drive for a smaller team. My gut feeling is he would never sign with a start-and-park team, even if they agreed to run all the races and NOT start-and-park.

The part of me that supports NASCAR hopes he brings in a big sponsor and gets a ride. The part of me that evaluates drivers says "bye bye A-hole, have fun drag racing."

Do you think that he will ever change, and if he did do you think the damage is beyond repair?

IMO, we wont know until he loses some wins due to the car not handeling to his liking. He and Kyle need more than just a sports therapist.

I definitely think that if they could control their tempers then they would win more races.

Anyone can change. Tony Stewart did (mostly). Right now I have no idea if Kurt has done damage beyond repair. I think he will get a ride, but not one that is top-tier. And that could spell disaster! You think he cussed a lot before... OMG!

I agree that Tony has changed a lot. I think that Tony use to try and be like AJ Foyt because that was his hero and everyone knows that AJ was no stranger to drama. But because of computers, facebook, twitter, and cel phone cameras you just can't get away with the things that those drivers did back then. Plus I don't think society excepts the badboy image like they use to.

I'll be honest, as much as I like Allmendinger and hate the a**hole -- I'd probably hire the a**hole myself. The sumbeech can get the job done on the track if he's not on his period.

You were the one to start the thread and berate RPM for considering Kurt. :owquitit:

Team brings the car to the track with a set-up based on notes from past races or if no notes the CC's experience. They run practice sessions, the team makes changes to the car according to the drivers input.

Race starts, driver starts ranting and the berating of the CC and team begins. Remember, the team has changed the car according to the azzhat s input who is now ranting and berating them.

I think it's more complicated than that, especially at Penske. The final decision on the main setup seems to be made by the engineering department at Penske. As the races went on, their cars seem to run out of adjustability to keep up with the track. This happens to Penske cars year after year in the chase. Maybe it's Rogers refusal to play in the grey area, or Penske South uses so many Indy engineers.

That's not proper behaviour for anyone, anytime or anywhere, IMO, professional athlete or not.

Agreed! We all hate to hear some whiney kid in line at the market who throws a tantrum cause Mommy won't buy him a candy bar.

That, I imagine, was Kurt at a young age...

Still is Kurt today. :D
