Well, Jr. won't be 13th anymore!
:salute:
Yeah, but I bet he is up there before the end of the race. Mikey too.

That sucks. Lots of cars out already. Hope everyone is okay.

4 laps into it and already the BIG ONE that takes out how many cars? when is Nascar going to get a freaking clue that restricter plates are a disaster!

I'm looking at 16 cars involved.

That is those a lap or more down. Some others may have enough cosmetic damage to suffer for it...........

I don't know how Craven missed that. Newman cut the tire and spun directly in front of him, then Martin shot right across his path. How the heck did he make it through?

Well that takes about half the field out of contention. Thank goodness Rays cars started up front. I think all my dogs got through.

I'm sure the crowd went crazy huh?

(I can't watch, somebody else gets to use the TV)

add the 42, 17 cars one lap or more down.

Degree of involvement for others unknown..........

Don't think I have seen Ryan that upset before.........

Only one of my dawgs got through, and that was Craven.

Yeah. He was pretty upset even though his car caused the wreck. Thought we'd at least hear a "I'm sorry."

How do you say "I'm sorry" for a tire that goes down with no warning whatsoever?

Sorry because a tire went down......what would he apologize for?? Being in the race?

Ryan Newman had a smart-a$$ attitude. No offense to any Newman fan's but that's exactly why I don't like him. I'm just glad that 2 of my fave drivers made it through. My other fave got some minor damage.

That was a short race. I'm glad everyone is alright. And my favorite driver, MW, made it through! Whew!

Easier to ask who DIDNT get some degree of damage. :( This race is a crap shoot everytime! This is a record for cars damamged here.

On a lighter note...that was the best Bud commercial with Junior that I've ever seen.

I am officially boycotting restrictor plate races from this point on!!! If they can't come up with a package that allows some seperation then the drivers should do the same. They want to cut costs for the teams? How much money was just wasted on a 3 lap race. Don't know about you all, but I'm loading up the bike and getting the hell out of here. Could give a rats ass who wins.

Let's see....he just totaled a $100,000 car, almost went on his hood again, took out a lot of his friends, probably doesn't know if all of them are ok yet, had a mic stuck in his face......how could he possibly be pissed off?

Boycotting isn't going to do anything. They've been trying to find a package for this track for awhile. Even Rusty said this had nothing to do with Talladega. A tire went down and the wreck follwed. Restrictor plates aren't the only track big wrecks happen. Howabout the wrecks at Bristol. Or the big wreck in the busch series at Texas. Big wrecks happen, but why do we always blame the restrictor plates?

Because they are running so close together? There's no way to accelerate through it, and it doesn't matter if its lap 4 or lap 150....they are always too close.

Having watched races at this track both with and without plates, I am not convinced that in this particular case the plates played that large of a role. At other times yes,

Three laps complete and just beginning lap 4, the field would likely be bunched up two and three wide in any case. Always has been that way here. They would have been going faster without plates, not sure that would be a good thing.

I completely agree with you, HardScramble. Without the plates they might have been going over 200mph when that wreck happened, and not everyone might have been walking away.
