I graduated from TCU in Ft Worth, I know it is a city to itself, my ????? was for the article, there is a lot of history on Ft Worth, be sure and read beyond the opening statement.

I still wonder just how far Fort Worth could have went if they hadn't lost the bidding rights to Dallas for the JFK assassination.

Don't see anywhere that the 78 lost it's crew, the car caught on fire among other things, but nope. Kaulig was the only team penalized at Kansas.
 
78 team didn't get a pass on the suspension of crew for the All Star race but Hamlin does?
 
31 team also. How can the appeals group change precedent that has been set by Nascar is beyond me.
 
Nascar is setting the precedent. The All Star race is a non points paying race. Those that serve their penalties during the All Star race who gives a damn it doesn't matter with the points. I haven't found anything about BJ Macleod or Kaulig either way. Hamlins team is the only one I have found that says they can't count the All Star race as a penalty race. All three teams are entered. 2 in the open, and Hamlin in the All Star.
 
I have to say, since it’s All Star week and the race was once known for them, these are my favorite schemes ran in All Star Race past. The Reverse Rainbow is the coolest, but JP car will forever have my heart.

NASCAR often uses the All Star race to try new things. I was wondering what they are trying this time. I checked the NASCAR site and saw that part of the qualifying procedure for top 8 qualifying teams starts with a side-by-side pit stops, race off pit road (no speed limit) and the car that crosses the finish line advances to the next round. The winner gets the pole.

I think it is cool that the pit crews are part of the process.
