No disagreement lots of money to be made, Wall Streeters should be impressed. Folks wanting to hear a modern day Helen Ready roar too.

But for folks wanting inspiration from the best drivers, not so much.
 
SHR has to be feeling the pinch from all those wrecked cars. They had to know this maybe they negotiated a better salary with her knowing she would wreck alot of cars. here is the deal, lets take your average 25 yr old dude off the street thats a good driver on the street has some nerve and is willing to learn. I put my money on them outrunning danica after they have as much training behind the wheel as she does. depending on the track its not that hard to run within say a second and half off the top guys provided the equipment is there. I was within 2 seconds of the cars capability in a late model, after 20 laps. that was also with me thinking there could be a problem with the car the way it entered the corner. knowing I wasn't in a seat that fit me, and knowing I would be extremely embarassed if I crashed. The speed and the talent is squeezing those last few tenths out of the car and being smooth enough to run that way lap after lap, not only that but with other cars on the track with you. Danica is sometimes fast by herself during practice or the old way of qualifying. just like kyle petty said, she is not a racer. a racer improves their position during the race, they make the car better. This whole female driver deal is like trying to put a square peg in a round hole and is related to this whole political correctness factor we see now days. It takes brass balls, it takes some serious feel to the car, it takes some mechanical knowledge. Women haven't been successful in stock cars and I don't think they ever will. If I am wrong I will eat my words. And besides there are other women that I think would be better than danica but they don't get a chance because they aren't as marketable.

Google Racing reference or Drivers Averages, or the Jayski post race report PDFs.

Compare her to Stewart, Kurt, and Harvick and tell me that you cant see the difference.
 
I'd just like to take this opportunity to say that if there's anyone lurking here that is a disgruntled member of the 10 crew, when you give your two weeks notice, please put in a good word for me. I don't have any formal pit crew experience, but I have 20 or so years of experience watching NASCAR races on TV. Thanks in advance! :D

Dont need to I know its bad. Does not stop me from believing she will succeed. More to success than a spreadsheet.

She is slowly getting better, in almost three full years, here average start and finish has improved
start/finish
2012- 36.1 /28.3
2013 -30.1/26.1
2014- 21.8/24.8

Not good enough! She can do better and I expect more of her. I bet if you asked her she would say the same.
 
funny thing about it it hasn't improved, this year it is worse.:D oh well. how long it continues is anybodies guess. All in good fun though.

70 races into her career, she should have a much better average finish than 25th. Not even a top 5 yet out of her. 19 current drivers had at least one win by the time they hit start #70.

Many fail to see the progress she's made in this season. Last year's final standings found her out pointing three of the other drivers competing in all thirty six races. Those include winning cup drivers, the Davids Reagan and Reutimann, as well as former truck champion Travis Kvapil.

This year, Patrick currently leads seven other full time drivers. Once again included in that number is cup winner David Reagan.

As Andy Petree said of Travis Pastrana as he crawled thru the window of yet another wrecked race car; “Don't worry X-Games fans, he's progressing.” Undeniably, so is Patrick.
 
Danica has a lock on 28th place right now. She has a comfortable 37 point lead over 29th place rookie Allgaier, slipping down one place so far over her last years rookie performance. Hopefully she can overtake her veteran boyfriend/driver Ricky's lead of 52 points by the end of the season to equal her rookie year. It would be a feather in her cap to have bragging rights to win 27th place twice in a row.
 
If TRL delete's this thread and forbids any Danica bashing in other threads then the haters/bashers that we've picked up in the last year and a half or so would go into the DT's for hatred withdrawal. And that could be a good thing.

That is one improvement that I can say she has made, she isn't any faster, but she also isn't wrecking as much, got to help the bottom line.

I disagree. Male or female when measured against other drivers she is just below average. She is also very fit and I don't think her physic or chromosomes are a factor, or a disadvantage.

I don't think that getting rid of fans because we don't like their drivers is very good for this forum . We've bullied all of the Danica fans out of here but one last fan . Not something we should be proud of .IMO. :(

I am not wanting to get rid of anyone either and I like DanicaFreak too. but who are the these Danica Fans that have been bullied away, I can't recall any case.

This isn't meant to bait, I don't like the idea of getting rid of anyone as it was suggested regarding DanicaFreak but I do think that was an exception. if I am wrong and real bullying is the trend or norm I want to know.

unfortunately, there aren't too many fans of drivers who are in the lower 20's and below in the standings male or female. You kinda have to make stuff up and be really good at spinning. this shame shame shame on you stuff is interesting though. If, I was making what she was making a year, in the public eye, I would cry all the way to the bank in my shiny green go daddy bikini.

The fact that it has lasted this long and you all (supposed non-fans of Danica) find the need to constantly tell each other how bad Danica is just tells us all we need to know about how our driver moves the needle.

Personally, I don't care if you like Danica or think she is competent...she is my driver and I support her (I don't need a bunch of folks on a racing forum telling me who to like or root for). I mostly lurk in the other threads on this forum because there is some good information to be found...but this thread and some of the posts in it are just a joke and the the joke isn't on the driver of the #10 car but of the folks that say they don't like her but can't stop talking about her.

but at some point you have to be good at what you do. we all work with the guy that you have know ideal how he keeps his job.

Not going anywhere. I'm just a fan. I respect the other Patrick fans for not posting in this thread. I have posted in it to try and show a different side of things. I try and always show respect for others feelings and beliefs.

You know SOI, its one of double edge sword things. In years past, I bet you could have labeled other drivers like JR in the same category. There was a time when JR was racking up most popular driver awards but under performing on the track. I know his merchandise was selling as good as or better than Patrick's is now.

I get it now JR is performing much better, but think back to the time when he was not. I remember people hating on him for some of the same reasons as they hate on Patrick for now.

I respect your opinion, though.

yeah you are right about that,Jr was/is in the same category, I couldn't understand how a whole bunch of me too's would get up and leave a race because Jr would wreck or whatever. I think it's great that he is doing better but the best driving exhibition in Nascar this year has been Ambrose and Almindinger, Last year it was Dillon and Elliott in the trucks at mo sport. to me that is what the sport is all about, do ya kinda get it, I like drivers that can hang it out and drive it to the max. I have said many times I am not much of a one horse pony fan after three of my drivers I used to root for when I was a young whipper died while racing. I like a whole bunch of drivers in all types of racing, I love the whole autosport deal. Wasn't enthused last year with celebrity Pastrana buying his way into the sport, and the same is with Danica last year wrecking more than driving. Pole sitter on a track where you hold it wide open? not impressed, hit the pole on a road course, or a short or intermediate, much better, your driving then.
