Amber Balcaen

She's only raced one year on ashfelt, previous was all dirt, not much of a track record to go on for the possible sponsors. She's 25 yr old now no family money to fall back on. Lots of young kids out there to pick from, some with Rich parents to Cary them for a year or two. As my hometown girl I'd love to see her succeed and move into a truck or xfin ride in a year or two. Unless a sugar daddy shows up soon her racing career will most likely continue and end in a Sprint car slinging mud. Would of been nice to see how she performed in a full season in the K&N series though. Sadly though we probably won't get a chance to see her full potential.

I forgot she just transitioned to asphalt. She did an appearance at a sports bar called Winners Circle (I believe they were an associate sponsor of hers) about 30 mins up the road from me last year but I think I was in Daytona for the July race at the time so I missed out. They have her picture inside and a hood from one of her cars, etc. Pretty neat.

She certainly is cute. And she performed very well last year on asphalt. I follow her on Instagram now.

Hey you know any Shabagas in the Peg? Wifes cousins. Actually she was born in St James Assiniboia before moving to BC
Shabagas, nope never came across any

She's very pretty so I'm actually a little surprised she hasn't found a sponsor considering Danica overhyped herself to death and she doesn't even look half that good.

I was just looking at the pics in the article and a couple
thoughts flew in my head. I was thinking about what transpired
with Erin Crocker and the then married Ray Evernham. Could that be
an unspoken potential distraction some owners and decision makers
have to consider? Probably just a waste of hypothetical time. Just
trying to figure out what are possibly road blocks she needs to
blast through to get a ride.

Didn't seem to hold back Danica :idunno:

Yeah, that's for sure. I think the Erin/Ray relationship was an exception and not the norm.
At least I would like to believe that.

The rookie pool is also deep with talent at the moment.

There are certainly more competitive females nowadays than ever before. Let's hope Danica has been motivational.

She won last night at Motor Mile from the pole.

Wes Thomason had the field covered until a late race caution. Would've been awesome if he had won. That guy is the definition of a true grassroots racer. His "team" consists of himself, his younger brother and a friend who volunteers.

Congrats to Amber though.
