Some good reading in those links. I'd forgotten some of the names. I haven't heard the name, Peter Revson, in decades.http://mobile.nytimes.com/2013/12/3...es-at-90-revved-businesses-and-cars.html?_r=1

I included the 73 500 links, no doubt it was a very difficult time for Granitelli.
Just a small part of Granatelli's amazing legacy in motorsports, the gas turbine car driven by Parnelli Jones that almost won the 1967 Indy 500.
I was a fan of the turbine car. I sent a note to the new United Sportscar series and suggested they allow an unlimited, no points, no purse money class for those who want to try anything.Too bad you can't innovate with that kind of leeway anymore. 60s to the mid 80s were a great era for some crazy setups.
That was a great era for racing. It was the era when I was growing up and watching. There were so many fabulous cars during that time.Too bad you can't innovate with that kind of leeway anymore. 60s to the mid 80s were a great era for some crazy setups.
