Any gruntled fans on this board?

You know what annoys me? People that are all "pink clouds" all the time and pretend nothing is wrong. Then, when people, who are watching their first love being burned to the ground by Brain France and co. have solid gripes, they get ridiculed and told to "change the channel". Well it ain't that easy.. A lot of us are basically addicted and will be here to either a)watch the empire crumble or b) watch them start to pay attention to the "constant" complainers, and we will get our racing back.

Buuut I guess I'll keep my negative opinions to myself, and from here on out I will post nothing but kitten pictures and NASCAR knob strokin' propaganda. It's gonna look like NASCAR.com in this b.

All that said, I love this ****. And I am "generally happy". A day watching cars go in circles is better than a day doing most anything else, any day. Not a whole lot can change that I don't think.... Unless it just ceases to exist at some point.....

We all have a right to an opinion, even if yours is wrong... :D

Seriously, I don't generally look at the bonehead or rate the race threads because there is some negativity going down in them and I know that. Lately, I have steered clear of actual race threads because there are a few people (you aren't one of them) that complain about everything including the color of a clear blue sky...

That kind of negativity detracts from my viewing pleasure.

I voice my concerns in the fan surveys where they might do some good.

Why not join the fan counsel? At least you can make your thoughts and concerns heard. Coming here just to complain makes no sense put your concerns where they MIGHT do some good.

I'm on it. I'll be honest though sometimes I don't go through emails for a couple days and theirs get lost in the shuffle/I just forget to look...

Armchair activists. Do nothing but scream online & put in a few facebook likes here & there. They actually think theyre doing something :dual9mm:

I love it. I think the racing this year is as good as its ever been. Just remember, opinions are like assholes. Everybodys got one, and they all STINK! lol

Im a firm believer in not complaining about things that you cannot control. I dont give a damn about the broadcast. I guess for me I look at the race season similar to the
Baseball season. It is a very long season. I dont have the time or the energy to complain about race 6 of the season. There are going to be duds when you have 36 races. It would be like raging over my Baseball team losing the 40th game of the season. It just makes no sense to me.

I cant control the amount of commercials that are televised, but I can DVR the race and fast forward through the commercials. Some of you should try it. It makes for a much more enjoyable experience. I cannot control who is in the booth, but I do know that those who are in the booth have forgotten more about the sport then I can ever know. I cannot control how competitve the race actually is. All of those things that make people complain are not enough for me to not watch. Its still an enjoyable thing for me. Why make it so intolerable?

I'm pretty much on the same page with all of this, especially the DVR part. Pause when they go to commercial, get a beer/snack/go to the bathroom/roam around the house or outside...I time it so that by the end of the race I am live.

I am generally happy with the racing from week to week. If I wasn't, I wouldn't be watching NASCAR.

However, the fact that I am a NASCAR fan does not mean that I have to love and embrace every single aspect of the sport, like all of the changes that King Brian has made over the last several years. It also does not make me any less of a fan than those that disagree with me, and vice versa. The purpose of a forum such as this one is to discuss things and state our opinions. We are entitled to those opinions, and we have the right to express them here as long as TRL and the powers that be on this forum allow us to do so, whether anyone else likes it or not. People on both sides of this debate would be wise to remember that.

My personal philosophy is, if I don't like what someone has to say on here, I don't let it interfere with my enjoyment of a race or a thread. I either respond to them accordingly, as dpk has done by creating this thread, or I just ignore them. Maybe I'm naive, or just plain blind, or maybe I'm just a negative old troll that embraces hate, but I post in the Cup race threads every week and I'm just not seeing this epidemic of complaining that is bringing the whole board down. I see a bunch of people expressing their differing opinions on a forum, and I have no problem with it.

Honestly, I would gladly post in the Podium race thread if, y'know, anybody else actually posted in it. LOL.

I enjoy watching every race. I try not to complain about anything but I'm not perfect and tend to find myself doing so at times. Complaining on a message board will do nothing.

I'd recommend joining the NASCAR Fan Council. Each week they send an email with a link to rate and make comments on the past race. I do it every week.

There are several things I don't like about nascar, but I've accepted them and it doesn't keep me from enjoying the race.

I don't come here every week and complain about the same things over and over like some people do. Every week it's the worst tack, most boring race ever.
It's just entertainment, people. If it bothers you that much why bother watching?

very gruntled here...."like a hawg in slop"......grunt...grunt...grunt.... :D

we've been trained ....by media ....ta only see negative in everything......rarely any positive.
throw in our selfish "world according ta me " attitude......ya also get hypocritical complaining.....and irony.
" My xyz complaint is valid......but your abc complaint ain't."....when neither usually backed by hard facts when ya drill down into subject matter.

think i'm fulla ****e ? just go back and reread this thread . ha!

Racing is great, it may not be to your liking and that's what makes it great, sans TV coverage.

I couldn't be happier with the sport. I dont care what they change in the rules, how my driver runs, or who wins any given race. If the cars are on track, running laps, and competing.. I'm happy.

I try not to mistake how I feel about a particular race' outcome for how I feel about the sport as a whole. The sport as a whole has nothing to do with which drivers are on track and which team is better than which other one or what happens on any given week... the sport is about racing.. Just good old high speed burning rubber and fuel, cars going 200mph for 500 miles with the wheel turned within inches of other cars and a wall to their immediate right... its about friends, beers, good times and great arguments, a weekend (or a sunday) away.. even sitting on your couch at home.. and the competition, the thrill of winning and the agony of defeat.

..and I love every minute of it! :)

OMG, the kitten posting people make me sick. That is something that I would expect from MW, or Brian.

Post some puppies, dammit.

Sure the coverage sucks, and Brian royally ****** the points imo, but this is a message board where all the hardcore fans are. We are all opinionated and loud mouthed. Go to any stick and ball team message board, and you will see the same fire breathing attitude from those fans that we have here.

If anything, the racing has been really great this year (excluding the **** show at Kentucky). We are all still watching aren't we?

The 'start and parks " ruin it for me . When you consider how corrupt other governing bodies can be (soccor , olympics , etc) ,maybe Nascar is pretty damn good .

It's actually much worse on stick and ball forums. Even though we argue, we're pretty civil here for the most part. Football forums are a good place to get f-bombs launched in your general direction.

I have complained in the past about various things I dont like. And, I dont watch like I used to at all. In the old days, my Sundays revolved around the race. Now, if I dont have another thing to do I watch. No more ticket sales or anything related to the sport anymore for me. The France mafia have seen their last penny from this ole boy.

The official team message boards are HIGHLY moderated. For just that reason I'm sure.

Not to get off subject here but part of the reason that I don't like our local stick & ball teams in L.A. are because 90% of Raider (fans here still think they're the L.A. Raiders) and Dodger fans are A-holes. More so the Raider fans. They ruin it for the nice fans. The mellow crowd attendance at local Dodger games is down because of the Brian Stowe beating. When the Raiders were here, the stands were full of drunks, antagonizing everyone else. I think I've only seen one real fight at a NASCAR event (that didn't involve drivers :D )
I will watch (Pro) football if its on but I won't go out of my way unless its the play-offs.
NBA, MLB, FIFA, Golf make me sleepy.
I will however watch live (TV) or DVR every Cup, NNS or Truck Series race.

I love racing especially oval track racing with almost all type of cars. I like to think it is in my blood, a sweet addiction I could not and do not want to loose.
I am not capable of hating folks either, I am just too humble, amiable, benevolent, and kind hearted and spiritual.

But I love truth and integrity too. With that in my mind I wouldn't want Brian or Bruton Smith to die. I just want them to experience lots of misery at least 12 hours and one minute of pain every day.
Unfortunately Nascar needs to go broke, be disolved to break the monopoly, and knowing that it would hurt France, and Smith is a satisfying thought.

MW is a sickening personality, and he probably fulfilled his lifes mission shaking his hiney like some BBW on the TV commercial. But as a compassionate person I would only want to see one of his fingers sledge hammered once each and every time for every "Aarons" lucky dog he pushed as a supposed commentator.

I like all the drivers too, except for the birth righted daddy boy princes that ****ted the hard working trailer park boys out of an opportunity. I know they cant help being born with Dillion, Elliott, Jarrett, Petty, Earnhardt etc as their last names. But in their late teens they should have forsaken their sugar deddies; and entered the sport broke and S out of luck, I could respect that kind of character.

The flaming metrosexual pretty boy Hendrick drivers are an offense to ones dignity. Tough to relate to such a manicured group of non sweaters.

I like throw back old school drivers, like Tony Stewart, Brad K, Matt, Kevin, Kyle, and Kurt.
But Tony reminds me of a bitter Rosanne Bar or Rosie O'Donnell. He is probably shorter than them as well. And for what it worth if you have attended a recent Cup race, you have already seen the real midget type of racing.

Brad just needs to keep his trap shut too. He is just too negative energy with his social media complaints. I think he is Polish too, nothing wrong with that but without a smoking hawt Eastern European sister, I would have to call his life a waste.

Brad and Matt doesnt drive a Chevy either.

Kevin, Kyle, and Kurt just need to be whipped and suffer a few broken bones in the process. They just say to many mean spiteful things.

I like Kyke Petty too, but there is something really weird and creepy about the dude. He has probably memorized every Hemingway book, he aint a good old boy.

Clint Bowyer well he is just to crude (probably counts and proud of every one of his farts), he could truly benefit by being a little phony and less real.

Hamlin is too delicate but out of kindness I will not elaborate. The tinker bell would probably cry if he read my thoughts, and I want to keep it postive and classy.....

way too long freudian slip ! :D

I'm half gruntled. As far as lousy coverage and too many commercials, I come from the time of 3 fifteen minute segments of a 500 mile race separated by wrist wresting from Pantaluma and cliff diving from Acapulco. Commercials pay the bills So we can watch he races live. As far as the lousy tracks, I watch the tracks I like and check the live leaderboard on the rest.

There is definitely a lot of queef on the site and among the fanbase. Not another fanbase of any other spot I can think of that does more whining/complaining. I don't disagree some of it may be valid - but damn, same stuff week after week. Often times the cry-whining starts long before something may happen - just your trolls expecting/predicting it.

I personally find if I don't like something, I don't participate or watch. Others are drawn to things they don't like so they have an outlet to gripe. I pity those folks.

Well don't stop there!!!!

Probably the post of the month(July!) right there folks. Such great messages all from a dude named "Greg" who at one time was just known as a dog in his avatar..

That's borderline rocket science.
I'll admit that I did a double take when I first saw the thread title, because I'm so used to seeing the word disgruntled. Then I saw who created the thread and I immediately understood what he was asking.

This may be the first time I've ever seen the root word used by itself. That's probably about the most awkward, negative sounding word that could possibly be used to express happiness or contentment. LOL.

Yeah, sounds like something that has to do with toilet paper.:)
