That was indeed hard to watch.Praying for Aric. That was hard to watch.
Just a gut feeling. Statistically, their careers aren't very different. Reed does have the two wins, although one was at Daytona. Reed's having a better year than Wallace. And who knows, maybe Petty can take advantage of that guaranteed sponsor. Why Reed?

Don't get me wrong, I loves me some Bubba too. I just feel like Reed is the better choice at this time. If Aric had been injured at some other point in the season, I might feel differently.
I'd bet a veteran like Biffle, Mears, or Vickers gets in the car before Reed or Bubba
I agree.
You don't put a rookie in a car to play a caretaker role. It's the reason that David Ragan, not Erik Jones, filled in for Kyle Busch. (with the exception of a couple of starts). Sponsors want someone with some kind of track record and the team wants to focus on not tearing more cars up.
Biffle would seem to make the most sense.I'd hire Biffle in a heartbeat.
Somebody better tell Mr. Hendrick about this. I think his choice of the young Mr. Bowman was a very wise one. Gordon was a sponsor darling. Alex got the car around the track!
I'm praying that this is a moot conversation. I hope to see Aric next weekend!
Bowman has 81 career starts....

Biffle's first 81 starts: 4 wins, 8 top 5's, 22 top 10'sBiffle should have retired at 81 starts.
Bring in the young blood!

What about Biffles last 81? Probably a better comparison. To actually make it relevant to now. Im sure Biffles still comes out ahead though.Biffle's first 81 starts: 4 wins, 8 top 5's, 22 top 10's
Bowman's first 81 starts: 0 wins, 0 top 5's, 3 top 10's
Biffle was with Roush, Bowman was not in a competitive ride for his full seasonsBiffle's first 81 starts: 4 wins, 8 top 5's, 22 top 10's
Bowman's first 81 starts: 0 wins, 0 top 5's, 3 top 10's
He's simply posting a reply to the guy who said Biffle should have retired after his first 81 startsBiffle was with Roush, Bowman was not in a competitive ride for his full seasons
There was some discussion last night about the time and effort it took the rescue crews to peel the roof.
"Discussion" is a civil way to put it.....
Consider the source(s).
True.Biffle was with Roush, Bowman was not in a competitive ride for his full seasons
I just wanted them to know that this was a good job, and they deserve praise instead of criticism.
Maybe 2018'sAric's OK he will be back for the 600
